Re: ECQF | P1 (2) Toronto Raptors vs (7) Orlando Magic
As a Magic fan, I concede that Raps should win this series. However, people talking about how easy our schedule was at the end of the season are over looking the fact that we had one of the toughest schedules at the beginning of the season. We're better than our record. This series is going to come down to 4 things:
1) Point gaurd play
2) Coaching
3) Bench
4) Experience
Again, I feel that the Raptors have the advantage on 3 of the 4 (Point Guard, and Bench) , but if we steal one of the first two games, the experience factor becomes a wash IMO. I give you the bench advantage, only because our bench scoring is not consistent, but when it's on, we can match up with anyone in the NBA. Should be a fun series.

The Raptors are Tailor made for the RS because
1. They are a good team
2. All 5 of their starters are 2 way players
3. They have a Superstar
4. It's the East (oddly though they have a better win% vs the West than the East)

while history showed that to be true - this is a different raptors team. our top 5/6 players are infinitely better than our bench guys. all the stats show that we are top heavy this year - as opposed to the last 4 years. this is the first raptors team that's tailor made for the playoffs b/c when our top 5/6 play together, we perform like the best team in the league whereas the previous years, derozan was barely a positive in +/-.

Maybe the Magic become the next 'Raptors' (I mean this in a good way.)
A Perennial 50 win team in the future that has a chance for the conference finals before needing to make a drastic move to go further.
Despite the playoff chokes it takes some savvy moves and luck to get to where the Raptors were before.

Yea, as I wrote I'm not trying to offend Magic fan base. Kinda excited to see if Gordon can do well in the playoffs. He's still a great talent. Then Vuc(Vuc should/will own in this one, in the post above I mentioned it, nobody on that Raptors team can stop him, Gasol is not that physical or quick and Ibaka is too short for Vuc, he will be doing WORK, imo) and guys like Ross and Simmons. Hope you guys come out swinging. Even if you don't make it.
Didn't take it as offense at all, just saying almost every Magic fan has a pretty realistic mindset about what's gonna happen. Just enjoying the ride.
Simmons is gone though, traded to Philly but trust me that guy is terrible. Sixer/Magic fans both agree he shouldn't be a rotation player these days.
I meant Isaac.

Anything's possible, but Magic winning the series is very unlikely.
There's just so many of us on this site man.
I know, didn't expect that many posts. Cause series hasn't started and you kinda the obvious favorite to win it.

Perhaps some of it is insecurity lingering for some fans (although I don't feel insecure about this team at all). We suffered so many years with a Derozan led team, that some still don't realize this is a completely diff team, lol.

Yea true, I agree you've had a few letdowns after some good regular season showings. So I see your point.
Anyhow, good luck to both teams and I hope for something exciting. Dunno if it will happen, but as a fan I hope for "something"...

Even though my head says this team is way different, there are too many what ifs going through my head until the first game has been finished. Thanks past Raptors teams!

Good post . Lets see if Ross can get hot , no OG playing so he has one less good defender to go against

It might be deeper than that. I remember once reading something about Canadians being heavy internet users compared to the rest of the world. Even if the Raptors were doing poorly, I'd still expect a reasonably healthy online presence, particularly when compared to franchises whose team pages are ghost towns.

Honestly might be an East Coast thing.
Pretty sure fans of Philadelphia, Boston and NY teams have a prescience on the Internet as well.
