Eh, I have confidence in Paul Millsap's defense.

I really do hope Denver gets through. They may have stumbled post all star but their stellar season deserves a lot more than just a 1st round upset.

Having said that, you'd be a fool to undermine 20 or so seasons of POP's playoff expertise. So it'll be Spurs in 6. But I hope Nuggets in any # of games.

Spurs could win it if Denver's wings continue their struggles but I think they find their stride.

The Spurs haven't particularly out done anyone in playoffs for about 3 seasons, turning over a 2nd seed in the first round is a tall task and what have the spurs done in the playoffs that makes anyone think they raise their game particularly?

They've (understandably) obliterated by Golden State and lost to OKC.

The Nuggets experience... well I do think losing that final game to the timberwolves now hurts them more, that one round last year would have gone some way to preparing them, but they have several playoff tested vets on the bench so they're not going in totally blind.

The Nuggest should have this, but a lot depends on Jokic, if he rises to the occasion under pressure then this will be 4-1, if not then they Nuggets might be sitting out the next round.

I think it really depends on how many games it goes. I selected Spurs in 6 but if it does go 7 I'm picking Denver.

With all due respect to Pop, the Nuggets are a better and deeper team. Experience matters, but young teams advance in the playoffs all the time. Not having experience isn't a dealbreaker.

But anyway Millsap has experience and Malone has playoff experience as an assistant, so that'll help.

It'll be a tough series, but I have the Nuggets in 7.

This should be a great series. We'll finally get to see Jokic in playoff action, and while I don't think he'll be "exposed", Pop surely has something up his sleeve.

I have no clue who will win but it should be the most interesting series (coaching schemes, adjustments etc.)

It's tough to pick a winner here but I know the Nuggets home record kinda speaks for itself. I'll go with Nuggets in 7.

And on this team he is not the first option and he has mostly played team ball here. Aldridge is going to feast on Denvers front line and will be our go to. So it's not like we're depending on Demar to carry us because our PG is injured and a playoff choker also like the old Raptors teams

It's not overblown at all. He's statistically one of the few worst multi Allstar playoff performers of all time. http://bkref.com/tiny/jtRsl.

The Spurs aren't good defensively so unless Aldridge is putting up 40 points a game by himself every night, they're going to need DeMar to contribute at a good level on the offensive end. If he plays like he usually does in the playoffs the Spurs won't make it out of the series.

I get what you're saying. But DD is not relying on an oft injured PG who routinely shrinks in the playoffs to be his 2nd option. And against the front line that Denver has I honestly wouldn't be surprised if LA does put up 40 on them because they have no one who can guard him one on one. Playing Denver allows SA to start Poeltl and with him, LA, and White on the court the Spurs are a much better team defensively.

I still think Denver will win. And I understand why people are quick to put Derozan down. All we can do is wait and see

Lowry actually had a good playoffs last year, check the numbers.

I'm not sure what to make of the Spurs and it's really centered around Derozan. The Spurs can advance or get defeated by the Nuggets and it all depends on Derozan even if he's not the 1st option.

If Derozan chokes again it'll further advance his choker label, if he doesn't than he might shed it and it might further help Pop's legacy.

It's weird because it's one of the worst playoff performers playing for one of the greatest coaches ever.

You're right about that, my mistake. I know he has had some stinkers in the past though

There's one flop on Mills to get Jokic into foul trouble. Glad the refs said play on

Nuggets playing better but missing some open 3s at the start. Even on this small sample I’d say the Spurs are out-matched this series. Jokic looking locked in.
