Great, so now the Kings know how to play us...
Pass the ball to the guy LeBron's defending.

Cle's defense was terrible in that series. Just like it was also terrible in the playoffs that year against Det. And the Hawks. Cle's defense had zero to do with them winning the title. But I'm sure you already knew that.
Landsberger wrote:Defense is a personnel/effort/coaching trifecta and I don't think Luke has done squat in that regard either. His answer this year was to put Kuzma at the 5 defensively for instance.
Because our crappy GM gave him zero bigs. And he abandoned that experiment when he saw it was failing. Kuzma sucks everywhere defensively. Him sucking at the 5 is one of his many issues. Randle isn't any longer than him and was nowhere near as bad at the 5. And our defensive rating this year still blows away any of Cleveland's full seasons under Lue out of the water.

Find me one post where I said Luke was a future HOF coach. Just one. Can you at least pretend to be mature in your Luke bashing?

Let's not pretend Luke was a great coach, guys. It's amazing how quick a narrative changes in a week.
His coaching staff is awful, his rotations are awful, it takes him way too long every year to get a functioning offensive system, he has wayyyy too long of a leash with veteran players, etc.
To me, Sacramento is downgrading. Luke, unlike Dave Joeger, will work well with management and he has the potential to be a phenomenal coach but he has to look himself in the mirror and understand his strengths and weaknesses.

Maybe if he brings Butler with him.
Ball - Butler - LeBron - Kuzma - Davis
- Ingram, Hart, Wagner, #11, and Bonga for AD.

My problem is not so much letting Luke go.
I was also pissed he never hired a tex winter to correct several of his bad habits and he never looks like a real talent developer.
My issue is having Rob still here and having a two candidate race hurried by the vaseline snake that includes a puppet and a guy with no real history of big winning in a market like this. Where is JVG, Becky Hammond, Coach K, or even SVG...
It does really look like Klutch is controlling this process with Fraud Pelinka's help and that LeBron basically doesn't want to be coached by anyone who has a strong voice and doesn't fit a certain complexion. Let's just call a spade a spade.

Advanced stats and individual "defensive ratings" are not predictive. If they are then CLE should have not even tried in the playoff the year they won the championship because as you pointed out..... they looked really crappy.
As I said, I see little difference in Lue and Luke. I hope they go in another direction but I'm also glad we've moved on from Luke. If saying Luke is similar to a coach who's been where Lue is "bashing" then I guess it's bashing.

I don't know a lot about him but if he had anything to do with Sixer's game preparation for game 1 I'd be a little cautious. That team looked like they flat out didn't care.

I guess I need to actually write out that is was sarcasm..... I was using the same shallow evaluation you did to show that Lue sucked.

Re: Next coach search: Granted permission to meet with Monty; reached out to Lue
This franchise is a complete joke at this point. Jeanie doesn't want the crowd to think LeBron runs the organization, but yet we're about to hire his best friend.
Someone please tell me what make Lue qualified as the Lakers head coach. Because he won a championship? Cavs don't win that title if Draymond didn't get suspended. Lue also won't have prime LeBron and prime Kyrie here (along with Love).
What makes Monty Williams qaulified to coach this historic franchise? This guy never got out the first round of the playoffs. Media wants to push the agenda of he's highly respected or he coached LeBron / AD. Who cares who he coached. His track record is unimpressive.
This is the freaking Lakers and our coaching interview list is made up of these clowns?
Jeanie has ruined this franchise worse than her brother has. It's not hard to figure out that we need to hire a top executive and a top coach with a historic past or from the pop coaching tree.
We're about to be stuck with LeBron x Lue x Kids who can't stay healthy. If you thought our defense was bad this past year, just wait..
This franchise is ruined.

Looking like quite a shallow coaching search. Have come to expect no more from a jeannie run franchise. Just pushing the inevitable reset down the road I guess.

We better be interviewing more candidates. I don't even get the rush to hire these 2, are they hot commodities?

I think this every day:
I can't believe how dumb this team is. Letting Rob Pelinka handle the coaching search, not hiring more people in the front office, etc. Disgusting.

They just need to hire Lue already ... We all know it's going to be him. Just get it done and over with FFS
