Hope UR right!! I feel like we will hire Lue, and just going thru the motions of interviewing other candidates (who have no chance to get the job) just to show due diligence. It feels like #Klutch is calling all the shots for our Lakers.

Crossing my fingers it's Coach Lue, but I'll be happy with anyone Bron/Lakers choose.

Yeh but out of all them, who is Le ... going to listen too? will he listen OR be happy about the coaching? remember we doing this to please LE ... IMO It's all about him sadly

OK. Avery Johnson I get. Why the others? Why do you see them as better picks for us?

Yeah, I think Ime Udoka is going to be one hell of a coach.

There's others I want to see interviewed along with Lue, Williams, Udoka: Juwan Howard, Jay Wright, Ettore Messina.

Problem with promising young coaches like Udoka is that he runs into the same thing Luke did with Lebron ignoring him unless he gets his way.

If he doesn't want to play any different style, he'll just get them fired.

You might as well get an older coach who will accommodate him. Not because you want to turn over the franchise to Lebron but he's eating a lot of the Lakers' cap for the next 3 more years so you might as well play it his way.

Not like Lebron is going to play off the ball and change his game drastically. Nor should he, because he produces and the Lakers should never have signed him if they wanted him to change in his mid 30s.

I can't believe we're going to get LeBron's puppet as coach... Sad day when one of the most prestige franchises is getting controlled by a drama queen. Never thought I'd see the day...

Lue is an upgrade over Luke Walton.

Funny how the narrative changes on Luke now he´s out of L.A.

Why isn’t Mark Jackson in the conversation? I thought he was supposed to be?

He’s at least someone that has experience head coaching a team that has had success in the playoffs without LeBron.

cool so we're at a point where a marginal upgrade instead of the best available is now acceptable. great.

edit: I'm not sure this is an upgrade at all... Lue has never coached a G-League team to success vs NBA talent like Luke has. What Lue has done is undermine Blatt to become the ultimate puppet coach of a single payer.

Specifically because when he left the warriors, he left in a unique way to any coach in the modern era: not one person in the org had his back or thought fondly of him. Trainers, ball boys, players, administrative personnel all hated his guts. read this, which is multiply substantiated in several articles: http://www.warriorsworld.net/2014/05/07/gods-devils-and-dysfunction-the-truth-about-mark-jackson/

Hire David Blatt. Send a message

But actually I'm surprised he never got a second chance with someone else.

Isn’t Vogel available? He’s pretty decent.

check out record and also players on the roster for each year. Monty actually had two good seasons where he had almost NO talent. Look for yourself. Meanwhile Lue was gifted a gelled unit with allstars and the best player in the league.

Not really a fan of this supposed two horse race, but I think I prefer Monty

Fair enough,
Monty's first year, his team won 46 games, that was great, he did it with CP3, David West (19pts,8rebs), Ariza and a healthy Emeka Okafor 10pts,10rebs/2 blocks for 74 games. They lost to the very tired Lakers in the first round, got swept by Dallas after.
The following year Monty loses CP3 and they win 21 games. Losing Paul was huge, but so did Thibs losing Rose for like 2 years, Rivers losing also Paul, Stevens loses Kyrie etc and their record wasn't that bad relatively speaking.
year 3, he gets the 19 yr old AD(yes, he might be still a bit raw) to play with Vazquez, Anderson, Gordon, they win 27 games.
That is not good IMO. 28TH defensive rating(3rd year). Luke Walton after one year, improved the Lakers from 30th to 12 best and even retained that ranking this season with major injuries and trade rumors chaos and yes with Lebron playing 55 games-His former team sucked in defense.
The following year, Monty's team won just 34 games with the 2nd year AD, Gordon, Tyreke Evans and also had defensive minded Jrue Holiday for 34 games, their Defensive ranking, still a freaking low 27th in the league.
I am not saying Monty is a bad coach, He had his share of problems, professional and both emotional and family. The question is, Is Monty really considered a big upgrade over Luke Walton?

all good points, I totally didn't notice Paul on that roster

Also not trying to say Monty is a good coaching option, but I do wonder how Lue would have done with those teams.
