I like the starting 5. We need a shooter on the bench behind Reddick. Not sure Hart is truly a rotational player on a contender. Wagner either.

Who wants to join that circus and be in Lebron’s shadow? If I was any of those guys, I would not even consider the Lakers
I think if kd and Kyrie come or some players like on that level. The Lakers have a chance at being a legitimate super team. No one in LeBron's shadow at this point in his career. And if they can dominate as in win back to backs. His legacy and Lakers legacy would benefit and whoever else's.

I hope Im wrong because I don’t think they can both afford both Vucevic and Reddick. JJ has been getting paid like 22 mil per year the past 2 seasons and Vucevic would be looking for the max or close to that.

JJ only got 13 mil this past season and is probably going to be looking at somewhere in the 12 - 15 mil/per range this season.

JJ shoots around 35% during Playoffs, fell off a bit from his usual 40+ percentage this year. He's on the wrong side of 35, fouled out versus Brooklyn. Still a nice player, but not a top choice at $10M or more per year.

Re: Free Agent Possibilities
Maybe, many of you would be agree with me
I definitely would bring back Lance Stephenson and Rondo back to the Lakers
Lance is miles better than Hart at this point. He could shoot the 3s, do some defense, play the point a bit and, of course, play the air guitar. Fun to watch and useful guy.
Rondo can be retained to nurture the young core. Look at what he did during the X'mas game. After James's injury, he lead the team. I mean he really lead the team in every single sense. Telling the squad what to do, positioning, playmaking and driving to the rim. He is extremely useful come playoff time. Regular season, I would only play him 15 mins a game. Playoff time, he can see the floor 20 mins per game. Worth noting that his shooting improved every season!!!

Re: Free Agent Possibilities
Stephens was cool from a comic relief standpoint, but he's pure iso ball... And only mildly effective at that...
He's also not anywhere near the defender he was supposed to be. If he's willing to come back on the min, then sure...
But I can't see a reason to make him a priority or anything like that...
Rondo was playing great until the AD fiasco... After that, he just didn't seem to give a crap anymore...
I don't think he'll be back... I don't think he wants to.

Nah the only vet from that wack group we should consider bringing back is McGee. Even then, I won't mind him leaving if he wants to get paid (save the MLE for Bullock).

You are right, Reddick gave his current a "discount" after he got paid by them 23 million the previous year. Still, would the Lakers have 12-15 mil after signing Vucevic?
Vucevic has a impressive 25.5 PER, Javale had 21.8 and only got paid 2.4 mil. 12 pts, 8 rebs for just 22 mins/game.
I know Nicola can do a heck of a lot more but he I will be shocked if he agrees to get paid by less than 20 mil/year.

We'll have about 41mil under the cap. That should be more than enough for Vucevic and JJ, assuming long term contracts. The only hitch is if someone else (foolishly) throws a max contract at Vucevic. Centers aren't quite as valuable as they used to be- for example, Portland was able to sign Nurkic for only 11 mil (on year 1 of 3 year contract). With any luck, we'd also have enough to keep Rondo and fill out holes with minimum vets.
While it's doable, I'm not sold on those particular free agents though.

Re: Free Agent Possibilities
After tonight I would think Kawhi to Clippers is written in the stars if it wasn't already.
We would be lucky to get Kemba or Jimmy.

Kemba is a fine player and would compliment Lebron very nicely. My preference is to get Kyrie then somehow trade for a player similar to Kevin Love. Also I think we are attractive to any free agent b/c we are the Lakers and we have a rich history of winning 16 Championships.
Also we have LeBron.

If the choice is Kemba or Jimmy I’d pick Kemba.
Then add some shooters around them - Dedmon, Ellington, Seth Curry, and bring Bullock back.
Not a bad squad. No silly trades though unless it’s for AD.

I was under the impression that Kawhi doesn't want Lakers as long as LeBron is here since like, before he went to Raptors.

Yeah, he might just rather retire and be Luke’s assistant in SacTown. I was hoping that’d happen here in LA. I’d love to see him back, even if for nothing else but to mentor Lonzo into veteran grade.
