Wes has come on strong over the second half of the season. Reminder that he remains just a second year player who upped his 3 point shooting to 37% (admittedly on low volume) and whose hustle and spirit have been infectious on this team. Wes's minutes have increased as the season has moved along from about 16 in the early season to a relatively consistent 20 per game in February and March (and into April). That's due to his consistent effort on defense and his shot improving. I hate to break this to you -- but Wes this year has been more impactful for the Magic was than Mario has ever been for any team.
Regarding Toronto, he got the first-time-in-the-playoffs whistle against him on 3 fouls in the first half in 4 minutes -- all of which were either highly questionable or just awful calls. I thought he played generally well in the game -- hit a 3 had a steal and made both of his free throws. Kawhi got a star call against him and the other 2 fouls were very questionable charges.
Feel free to continue to hate on Iwundu but, from my perspective, his performances have been generally impressive and I have personally been inspired by all the work he has put into each game.
