Was thinking of either Metro Exodus or Forza Horizon 4. Or maybe The Show? I don't know...I've been gone from that game for 5+ years and now RTTS mode almost looks too much like an RPG for my liking in the genre, so I'm not sure how much interest I'd have.

Anyone have thoughts on those or any other recent recommendations?

Have you watched streams of RTTS? I still enjoy it a lot personally; I don't find it to be too RPG-like. I'm not a big RPG guy but maybe I have a little more tolerance for it than you do, idk. RTTS isn't like 2K where you have cut scenes after every game, have to respond to interview questions, etc (at least up until this year's MLB anyways). I haven't bought this year's game yet, but from reading about it, I think this year's game went a little more in the RPG direction but I don't think it's anywhere near 2K in that regard yet. Still seems like you're mostly just playing the games with an occasional cut scene mixed in. RTTS remains my favorite career mode ever by a pretty significant margin; it's just so much easier to get through games in MLB than it is any other sports game (despite my overall love for 2K).

RPGs are my jam - it’s almost exclusively what I play. But the NBA2K model of making a sports game into an RPG is decidedly not my jam. I’m skeptical of what RTTS hasn’t become from what I’ve heard and read, but checking out some streams wouldn’t hurt. Good suggestion.

That said, I’m kinda good for now. Forza Horizon 4 is **** amazing.

I’m probably going to pick up MLB at some point but I’m in the same position right now. Really hooked on The Division and have gotten back into 2K again after I switched to a defensive specialist for MyPlayer.

http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2019/03/rumour_persona_5_s_expected_to_arrive_on_nintendo_switch_this_fall

I don't know how I missed this last month. This is **** incredible. P5 is one of my all-time favorite games. I can't even imagine how much time I could sink into it with an enhanced edition available on the go.

This in addition to a full-blown Shin Megami Tensei release (supposedly) in 2019. Wouldn't be surprised if that gets pushed to 2020.

More info on that, and P5 The Royal, on April 25!

Bought Diablo III for the Switch.

Thoroughly enjoying button mashing on a massive TV. Just hit 70. No idea what I'm doing post 70.

The small quality of life improvements in the original Borderlands GOTY edition make for a great experience. Just finished playing through my first go-round and loved every minute of it. Doesn't have the humor or variety of enemies/guns of Borderlands 2 and the bosses are complete pushovers, but it's also SUPER fun. Good god the exploits will also make you hilariously OP too. It's a total blast. I farmed so many locations. The eridium dudes on the final stage got me, like, four levels in 20 minutes. Then this happened.

I need to get a new computer monitor, and we could do with a spare TV in the house. Does anyone have thoughts on whether I should go with "get a big new monitor, have it double as a second TV" or "get a smaller TV, have it double as a monitor"?

Monitor demands are relatively modest and not particularly any high end gaming. TV wise I'd basically just be looking to replicate what folks watch in the house on streaming services already (using something like a chromecast)- ideally I'd rather it was a neat little setup and it could be just turned on and effectively run as a TV without having to start a computer (I'm fine with someone using a mobile device to cast stuff).

Honestly 4K TVs are so damn cheap I’d go that route. Especially if you’re not a tech snob like me.

I went through a similar-enough situation about a year ago. I started out with a TV mounted on the wall - and it certainly worked well enough - but I moved on and got a actual, nice, new monitor.

I guess what I would suggest is whether or not you'll be happy using the mounted TV as a computer monitor considering distance. I was not, which is what ultimately led to my change. I kind of have the best of both worlds, though, as I still have a mounted TV on the wall (that I started with) for TV. But I'd much rather watch TV on my PC than try to use my computer with the monitor 10 feet away.

So apparently Dragon's Dogma is out on Switch now, and plays well in handheld mode. Anyone play it back in the day? I never got to it.

I never did either but I know it has a devoted fanbase that really loves it.

Seriously. So many of the comments on YT video reviews/streams, article reviews, etc. are along the lines of "this is the greatest RPG of all time", "best game of the generation", "most overlooked title ever", etc. The cult following is real with this one. I'm pretty intrigued.

Monster Hunter meets Dark Souls does sound right up my alley.

Persona 5 R trailer. It’s in Japanese so I have no idea what’s going on. Doesn’t come out in the US until 2020.

The P5 localization is excellent, so I imagine that's why it's not coming until 2020. They'll take their time to ensure it's also excellent.

Looks like new moves, a new character, some new locations, and new music (!!). I'll be interested to hear if the story is extended or if it's all integrated into the current timeline. It's hard enough to fit everything in as-is.

Should hear about P5S tomorrow!

Tons of boardgames on sale at Amazon today. Added 3 new ones to my collection. I think it's flat out too big.

Dragon's Dogma is fantastic, reminds me alot of the DA series. Had no clue that it was on the switch, going to go grab it now. Thanks for the heads up.

I was kind of just hoping for a Switch port, but this looks like a Persona Dynasty Warriors.
