I like ur fits list a lot Supes and pretty much agree. I’d prolly put Clarke and Hunter in the same slot at #3 best fits behind Zion and Cam. About a month ago Clarke wasn’t even in my top 12. The thing about Clarke over Hunter for me is the motor and heart. At the end of the day I value hustle and heart over body and size. Having said that, a high skill level has to accompany all of that for it to even matter.

Zion
Cam
Clarke Hunter Hunter Clarke
Hayes

Hayes and Clarke catching oops from Trae is almost not even fair.

He’s gonna wreck it Supes. I don’t care what the critics say this kid has that IT factor. I don’t care if he went 2-23 in a game at Duke..all that gets thrown out the window when he hits the NBA. Kid has tailored game for the pros.

I have Clarke as a better fit for numerous reasons.

While Hunter is a better perimeter defender, Clarke has elite hands on both ends, covers space A LOT better than Hunter, gets steals and blocks, an elite athlete and played at Gonzaga which is an elite pace college team.

Clarke is going to have to transition into a 3. He will have to be more discipline defending the perimeter and of course, he is going to have to hit the corner 3 at a respectable clip and he is going to have to develop it. He will take some time while Hunter is plug and play for any team. That said, I'll draft Clarke over Hunter 100 out of 100 times for us and to be honest, for most NBA teams as well. Shawn Marion types are generational. Otto Porter Jr. types help but their cost is usually not worth it honestly.

I mean, he will in Atlanta. I can't speak of that with other teams but he will in Atlanta. He isn't a great fit or even decent one for a number of these lottery teams. Hunter should be much higher on their board.

Here is an article on Omar who is also the agent of Trae and former Hawk Tyler Dorsey:

And Zion Williamson.

And Trae Young. He spent most of the 2018 college season hatin' on Trae, comparing him to SETH Curry. :noway:

My real issue with Hunter is that I'd prefer to take him lower than where he's likely to be picked.

And the GT stuff is hurtful. My feewings are hurt rite now. 'Scuse me, I got dust in my eyes.

He is Otto Porter Jr. Ish to me so being picked in the top 7 sounds about right but when he gets that 2nd contract, you will cry.

While Reddish will be worth the 2nd contract for us so it doesn't even matter that much.

Yeah and I think what you're describing is the fact that he has a low ceiling. I acknowledge that he'll be a useful player but I just don't see him as a lottery pick.

Or just take Barrett as our point small forward as a duel threat with Trae. A big FU to the league...

(That’s if they lowball us on trades)

For Ja Morant or RJ Barrett?

That's really optimistic.

Considering the number of teams desperate for a point guard, even Schlenk can't mess that trade up can he?

I mean, there should be an all-out old-timey auction off for the right to pick Morant.

Hammana, hammanna, I see a '21 1st and a pick-swap, hammana, hammana I see a '21 1st and an unprotected '22 1st, hammana, hammana ... I see the Phoenix GM is asleep in the back , hammana, hammana ...

Morant. I want Phoenix to give us an unprotected 2020 pick and the pick swap in the draft

RJ is the godson of Steve Nash, who of course is LP's longtime friend, so there are some connections.

Yes.

I'm not certain he's a perfect fit here, but I do believe RJ will be one of the most consistently productive/impactful players from this draft class.

YES!!!

The only issue -- Collin Sexton is maybe the worst possible fit next to him. But if you believe RJ can be the guy, you take him and figure it out later.

(If only Cleveland had taken Mikal Bridges last year instead. That kid can play alongside anyone.)

Return to Atlanta Hawks
