It’s understandable why you’d want this conversation over. It has been super pathetic how you’ve went about it

It’s not a conversation, it’s other people like you trying to make it a conversation, which is pathetic on your part.

It’s the equivalent of you mentioning your wife leaving you and me pestering you why she left you. Meaning it’s none of your business, but obviously not something I want to talk about. But at the end of the day, your wife did leave you.

not really. You bounce in with dirty and shady comments on multiple different threads. And keep saying that with no substance at all.

You want to keep saying it then you should actually say it.

If this wasn’t something you do over and over I wouldn’t bug you to explain yourself

Clarke is a freakin' stud. Tankathon has him as pretty much a can't-miss prospect.

The thing about Tankathon is they seem to rely heavily on statistical college production, which Clarke obviously dominated this past year.

Most do but yeah.
I'm not down with most public opinion sites that don't get paid for the knowledge they spewing.
It's nice to have as a reference for prospects under the radar , but they rarely give props or credit to those prospects before I've already taken notice.
Never trust a web site that lives off hype.
But worse never over rank anyone based on inflated college stats. You can definitely judge prospect negatively though if their stats suck

Kevin Broom (also known as "TheSecretWeapon" on the Wizards board) has an excellent metric for evaluating talent called YODA. He basically produced an algorithm which factors college production, measurements, and combine numbers, which then spits out a grade for each prospect. It's not fool-proof, but I'd say at the least if gives you a pretty solid way of evaluating prospects.

*btw Kevin has done analytics work for the Wizards.

Honest question, which I'm genuinely curious to read answers on....

What separates Rui Hachimura and Derrick Williams?

Skill. It’s a different game now, players have to be better to make the NBA and scouting is more advanced now. Hachimura is less athletic, but he’s more fluid. He has better footwork and a better mid-range jumper. I also think he’s a better on-ball defender. I’m a big fan of Hachimura and think people are sleeping on him. If you believe in his defense a little and believe he can continue to stretch his shot, it makes no sense to undervalue him. Also remember that he came to Gonzaga knowing little to no English and without playing basketball for very long. It’s amazing that he has grown so much in that short amount of time. Two years ago he wasn’t taking jumpers and now is one of the best mid range shooters in college basketball. He’s only going to get better. In how quickly Giannis was able to get better, he reminds me of that mindset. Personally see him as a lottery-type talent that everyone is overthinking.

He’s awesome, I’d be willing to take him pretty high.

I'm not sure if it's already been brought up, but a fitting comparison for Brandon Clarke that struck me this morning:

A NOT crazy version of Kenyon Martin?

He doesn't play anything like K Mart though not to mention he doesn't have K Mart frame at all. Maybe you meant Rui

Clarke is currently #5 or #4 on my big board. I think he is similar to DeMarre Carroll but with the athletic ability of Shawn Marion. I think if you give him time to adjust to the SF position, he is an All NBA talent

How does he play the 3 w/ no 3 point shot?

He has shot it in pre game and well at times. For his skill-set, he doesn't need to be a lights out guy. He just needs to be a corner 3 specialist.

He also has no handle and can’t drive from the corner to the basket. He’s also not the kind of rebounder that runs in from the perimeter to rebound. I don’t see it at all. He’s more of a 4/5. Plus I don’t know why you would want him away from the basket, you want him to rebound and defend the rim.

He has a great first step and good body control

Clark's handle is functional enough...it's kind of like Jordan Bell level, you don't want it in his hands for too long but can push the pace a bit and within a certain range of the basket has no problem putting it on the floor. I've seen Clarke make some good inside-out passes too so there's potential there for more improvement as a playmaker but I don't know if that's ever gonna be a strength of his.

thing about Clarke is he's probably coming into the NBA at probably THE best time for a player of his archetype...multi-position defender who can guard out to the perimeter and protect the rim are pretty damn valuable players today, anything he adds offensively on top of put-backs, rim running and lob catching is a cherry on top.

he's essentially a sooped up version of Jordan Bell with a better head on his shoulders hopefully.

I don't see Jordan Bell at all. I think he is a 3 and small ball 4. Bell had a better body. Clarke is 215 at his best. He is like Demarre Carroll in a lot of ways for me.
