Read up a little bit on Monty. He’s apparently well respected by LeGroin, KD and KL.

The AD/LBJ and Griffin situation is interesting, too...

You really think the Knicks wouldn't give us Zion for Lebron right now, knowing that Kyrie, KD, AD are waiting in the wings?

Lebron is getting like 37 mil/year plus a 15% trade kicker, salaries has to match so I can't imagine if it can actually happen, you might like to use the trade checker on this site and also I am one of the very few who is not completely sold on Zion.

Knicks only have $34M on the books for next year, so they could DEFINITELY absorb Lebron for a pick. And undrafted players are not on the Trade Checker. Might want to be sure what you're talking about before you get sassy.

https://hoopshype.com/salaries/new_york_knicks/

Yes, Knicks can absorb Lebron's contract I know that, but again salaries has to match. Last year's top pick Ayton has a salary of like 9 mil per year, Lebron will get paid 37 Mil and salaries has to match,
Do the Lakers ask for specific free agents that the Knicks should sign (to match salaries) so they can get them by... dec 15 (you know this rule, right)?
who are these free agents? How sure are you that Zion is a sure fire superstar? I am not completely sold on a rookie who has never played pro before but for the sake of argument, he dominates the competition, you really think Knicks will not change their mind esp with the fact that they are only paying him 9-10 Million?

I can see why anyone with a brain would avoid LeBron's nonsense. Ty Lue had a panic attack and had to seek medical help in Cleveland. Great player but toxic character.

The rumors I’ve seen are suggesting Monty will take Brown’s job if the Sixers underperform in the playoffs. Even if he doesn’t get that one, I think Monty will land another HC gig, so I could see why he might want to roll the dice and pass. I still don’t think he’d pass up the job if offered though.

Lue isn’t getting another gig for a LONG time, if at all, so there’s no way he’d pass up the job. Even if people really are telling him to stay away.

Not like either of these guys are in the upper echelon of top coaches. I'd be fine if we pass (or they pass on us) on both. I'm fine with waiting for a better coach. Both these coaches can go kick rocks. The day we are left to hope mediocre coaches are interested in coaching our team would truly be a sad day... I dont believe we're there yet.

This is Pelinka and Jeannie's call. Bob Myers is a former agent who is now the President of Basketball Operations for the Golden State Warriors. My guess? Pelinka is going to become President and anyone who watched him take this crappy, capped out organization 2 years ago to where it is today (with Lebron, a max cap space slot, good to great young talent, etc.) should be 100% fine with this.

It's mind boggling that we have to hear about signing Beasley, trading Zu, etc. over and over and over again. He traded away one immovable contract (Moz), one practically immovable contract (Clarkson) and executed a buy-out on the other. He got picks in all those deals, when they really shouldn't have, and turned them into good players. And his front office signed Lebron, you can give Magic credit but who do you think made the end roads with Rich Paul to make that happen???

Stop paying attention to the media narrative. It's tired hyperbole that is beyond inaccurate.

Monty Williams is 1st choice according to #Cowherd, but likely will be promoted to HC at Philly after Brown gets fired.

2nd Choice is Lue
then Howard

my money is still on #LUE

God, I just still can't believe Jeanie Buss.

The rumors about them having a President of Basketball Operations ready to go sounds unlikely to me.

This organization looks completely insane because of one reason: Jeanie Buss. Keeping Rob Pelinka is insane when the Lakers could have their pick of the litter. Makes zero sense.

Please, for the love of god shamgod, tell me what the hell pelinka did to earn the ire of so many? Do any of you remember what this organization looked like 3 years ago?

We have Lebron! We have a max contract slot in the best FA class ever! We have a good young core!

If you’re just butt hurt over missing the playoffs or about trading russell... two words: move on.

If you don’t like him because you honestly believe all the bs reporting about how he’s tough to deal with or doesn’t work hard or magic didn’t like him... then you clearly have no idea how news and sources and manipulation works in this country.

Stop complaining and start hoping we sign Kawhi and have a healthy season.

I just realized that Pelinka has so many enemies in the league and the medias. The next second Magic resigned and everyone jumped on Jennie Buss and Pelinka lol

Yes, I don't think Pelinka deserves all these negative comments about him but my question is why is he allowing this process of interviewing coaches to happen if Magic's position has not been filled up yet?
Is is too arrogant to believe that he ALONE or should I say along with some questionable "advisers" can simply decide to hire a person who is responsible of making all the major decisions of coaching this team?
Doesn't it make more sense for him to tell Jeanie, Hey I know I am competent but I think we NEED another BRILLIANT mind to help make these CRITICAL decisions like hiring the Head coach and his staff, replacing the head athletic trainer etc?

Woj tweeting that Lue is meeting with the Lakers today... if we hire him I think I'm about done with this Franchise. Get a Pres in here to make this hire, not Rob and Lebron.

Let me answer that with a question to you. What did Pelinka do to deserve the job other than be Kobe's agent?

Let's all collectively get off the Kobe nut sack and examine the league for the best possible candidates. This is such a pivotal off-season for this team. After this year, young guys need to start getting paid and have big cap holds, our free agency money goes away, LeBron gets one year older, etc. We need the best possible person to walk into free agency meetings this summer with Kawhi, Kemba, Kyrie, Klay, KD and give us a shot. I personally think Kawhi is there for the taking. If LeBron steps up with his recruiting and we have stability in the organization and a great medical staff, he'll be a Laker.

What I don't need is Rob Pelinka meandering into a free agency meeting talking about "Laker Excellence" and quoting the bible or Shakespeare. Anyone ever see the video of Rob Pelinka taking the contract over to LeBron and signing it with him?

Any other time period, Rob Pelinka could have walked into the President of Basketball Operations position and I would have been fine with it. I would have been in wait and see mode. But when we have the resources and selling points (cap space, young assets, LeBron) that we do, also knowing how important this time is, you don't need to settle with a novice. Get the best guy.

Unreal how we are gonna become the LA Lebrons after we sign that idiot Ty Lue after letting Luke leave.

Fcuk Lebron James and his cabal man...…. as great a player as he is...… horrible, toxic personality and pity us that Jeannie is letting it happen. Unreal.

For people that have this view of Lue just being a Lebron stooge, take the time to listen to Brian Windhorst on the Sedano show a couple of days ago.

https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-sedano-show-hr-2/id419437290?i=1000435195111

Start around the 14:00 minute park for the Lue stuff, but try to listen before that where he shoots down all this unfounded “Lebron the GM” stuff

You're really using Windhorst's words to prove your point? A known Lebron mouthpiece for years and years.

Thanks for posting this. I have mad respect for #Windhorst, well respected in the industry. I was speaking to some people today and we all have a good feeling that Rob's meeting today will seal the deal with Coach Lue. It's going to be like old times. :D
