Knicks have secured a top 5 pick by finishing last. I imagine they will use it to pull off a trade similar to what the Celtics and Cavs did to form a big 3. That is if they already have a commitment from Irving and kd.

#5 pick(Jeff green) for Ray allen
#1 pick(Andrew Wiggins) for Kevin love

Knicks are going to use that pick as bait to acquire another all star (Anthony davis? Bradley beal?). It will be very interesting if they get durant, kd plus another all star AND keep Mitchell Robinson who is going to become an all star and DPOY someday imo.

If Kyrie is not coming to NY, then KD won't join the Knicks. Anthony Davis for #1 pick, then maybe....but other than #1 pick, NOLA won't be that dump...I think KD only go to a team with Kyrie. Without Kyrie, KD might go to Clippers with another superstar or he will stay here.

About Cousins, do you think he will get 20M/year?

Re Cousins: I'd say it all depends on how he looks in the playoffs what contract he gets. But even if he doesn't shine, IMO someone will gamble and give him at least that.

I'd say even for #2 pick, as everyone is falling for ja morant who will probably be the #2 pick after zion williamson.

The article in the wiretap has quotes where he talks about his time in GS in the past tense.

“I went to the Bay Area for three years.”

Sounds like he’s already made up his mind, which is surprising to me.

30 “I’s” “me’s” and “myself’s” in that article

Am I surprised by any of it ? .not in the slightest..

The bad apple is Green...who is also pushing KD out the door. If I was Jacob, I'll be trading Green...the dude is cancer who thinks he is the reason why we won the first title.

Yeah, its such a bummer. Green was the guy that recruited him to the Warriors, then when he couldn't get a sign of commitment from KD that he would re-sign after this year he turned on him. I thought Green was his best friend on the team. Steph is the only one that can keep him here, but it seems like he doesn't really get involved in that.

Without KD next year, Livingston retiring, Iggy slowing down, and Cousins gone they will have some pretty big holes to fill this off-season. The saddest part is that there is no better team for KD to be on than the Warriors.

Got an email today with the subject line “KD commits to Oakland”.

If KD is leaving, I can't believe he would want his swan song to be getting shut down by Patrick Beverley. If he is leaving, I expect him to come out and do what he can to just abuse Beverley as if to say "I'm still Kevin Durant!"

One thing is for sure, KD will NEVER enjoy that level of basketball anywhere besides the Warriors. The rest of his entire career will be spent playing limited isolation hoops....having brief moments of singled out glory. The joy of basketball bliss last night in the Clippers game will haunt him if he leaves.

If the Warriors continue this run of hoops heaven passing, scoring and defending in a championship finale, I just can't see KD feeling anything but remorse wherever he goes.

Nobody but KD shuts down KD. He's still clearly coasting.

I think that statement ignores history, and assumes that GS will always be champs, and any other team with KD will not. I might agree if Durant really does go to the Knicks. I worry that even a good coach and GM will fail with that current ownership. But it seems to me that the gap has closed and some of our mystique is gone. There are other very competitive teams, in good organizations, with good coaches. KD alone could be the difference with a few. But KD with Kyrie, or his like, might even more guarantee his happiness. I think we have the most talent currently, but that's in part because of Durant. And will we have that great passing and the assist numbers if we lose Dray. I do not want to think of our defense without him and/or Dre. I also wonder about our center position after DeMarcus. I thought it was very poor early in the year. I feel silly about all these concerns when I realize that this ownership and leadership will always put out an exceptional team. But championships are another matter.

When I look at the totality of Kevin's career, and appreciate his being one of the all-time greats, I cannot even imagine such future remorse. I actually wondered, after the last game, how much of that great offensive talent is being wasted, and how frequently. I believe he could do that almost every game, but will not or has not, I suspect in order to fit into the system. He might actually feel more self-actualized in another effective offense.

In spite of everything herein, please be assured I do not want him to leave. But if he does, I think he could find happiness with West and Rivers on the Clips, and a few other teams with cap space. I worry if the Knicks can turn it around. That's sad for me, because I loved them as far back as Clyde and DeBusschere. Something happened after the 90's, though.

How do you figure that might guarantee his happiness?

The Clippers are a legit contender. NY is a joke. No sane Superstar would go to that team. I can't take any rumor about that place seriously.

I think Durant has proven himself to be a consummate team player. I wrote "might more guarantee his happiness" because I believe adding two superstars (instead of just one) to a good team increases its competitiveness and chances for a championship, for most the ultimate joy.

I'm convinced that Kevin is happy with the Warriors. The point of my post was that if he leaves, for whatever personal reasons or goals, it will not necessarily doom him to a future of woe and gloom.

Sure, unless the 15 year olds on the internet talk him into doing what they haven’t required of LeBron and he goes somewhere hopeless like the Knicks with their current ownership. He has actually become a better playmaker and defender than he was at OKC, and will transform pretty much any middling good current play-off team into a contender as you have said, and more than 1 team into favouritism for the title.

Someone cited his playoff stats from his OKC years. Had some pretty bad shooting numbers, at least in some games.

I can't recall KD having a bad playoff game for the Warriors though. Maybe not shoot enough but highly efficient in most if not all the games.

Just get on your knees and beg KD to stay at this point cause he is the best player in the world and it isn't even close.

Step one 1. Tell KD we will do anything to keep him, evening trading dray.

Step. 2 If KD says no, offer a sign and trade to the Celtics so he can play with Irving and be in the east. Start with KD for Hayward and Tatum. Settle for Hayward and brown.
Boston’s incentive Is that they get KD and it’ll tempt Irving to think about staying if the option of KD to Boston is possible. He can try to convince KD. They wouldn’t mind parting with Hayward anyways.

I’d rather have Hayward + brown than mle. I think Hayward is the perfect fit if he fully gets back to his former self, or even 80 percent. Can shoot, unselfish, big, can get to the rim. He’s showing more and more signs. + Brown Would be great with an aging iggy and a retired Livingston.
