He should learn from Devin Booker and Towns how to truly play the game, you just focus on being a beast offensively and don't give a **** about defense, it is a waste of time better invested in learning to shoot and improve scoring arsenal.

Players can't "focus" on something to be good at it, they have to have actual talent. Gobert has no talent. He's just a shotblocker and a lob finisher because of his wingspan.

No matter what era he played in, he'd just be a good starter. Nothing more.

Yeah, there is nothing like improving your skills, it is all about how talented you are. So Gobert should just give up trying to improve because he is not talented offensively.

The Jazz will be coming hard after Tobias this off-season. Hope we're ready to fend them off.

He's not talented, defensively, either. He just has freakishly long arms to protect the rim and defend in the post.

Anthony Davis, now that's a defensive talent. Can anticipate and jump passing lanes, guard multiple positions, can defend in space on the perimeter against scorers. Gobert does none of that stuff.

So do you think the $75m owed to him over the next three years is money well-spent, for Utah?

I think he's a terrible asset on that deal. I wouldn't spend a cent more than Morey overpaid for Capela on one of those "limited talent bigs with useful traits" types.

Steven Adams and Gobert are just flat out bad contracts, to me. Paying a guy north of $25m a year to defend in the paint and barely chip in double digit scoring by the time postseason rolls around is just crap value, in my opinion.

But he can focus on at least improving his skills, which was my point. Not having the talent is not an excuse to stop trying to improve, no doubt there is a limit to what you can do, but Gobert hasn't focused much on improving his offense because he has been coached to care more about rim protection.
Some skills are learned, for example, Embiid almost never flopped in College, but now after copying James Harden, he has mastered his flopping game and as a result his offense has improved.

He seems to have been working on honing down the screen and roll game pretty well. I just don't know what else he can add to his game. He isn't coordinated enough to handle, he's not athletic enough to score in transition, he's not skilled enough to implement a face-up game.

And why should Utah sacrifice a ton a possessions while their relatively skill-less bigman attempts to magically add talent?

He needs to add a jump shot, simple as that. He is not Ben Simmons, who doesn't know what trying to improve means, he just needs a shift in what he has to work on in the offseason.

These defensive players can't just change their focus and add skills to their game. Why do you think Porzingis is referred to as a unicorn?

Porzingis does it better, doesn't mean Gobert can't improve. Of course they can add skills to their game, just in a limited manner, but better than nothing. It is not all about how talented you are born, it is mostly about talent but not all about talent. There is room to improve.
And porzingis is not a unicorn, he is a career loser with below average efficiency. He is slighly better than Bustangelo and Westbrick but that's it.

Raps-Sixers should be interesting.

Ben could lock down Lowry while Butler can make it tough for Kawhi to prove his worth on that series.

We can hide Jj on Danny Green.

We will see if their gamble on Gasol will pay-off.

Love seeing Jerami starting playoff games, even though it's not with us.

He's only got this year and next. They have tons of cap room, I'm not seeing what him making a couple extra million than he might be worth is really impacting.

I'm not ready to support a new team.

Surely someone can get some 'dirty dirty smear' photos of Portland's GM as leverage 8-)

*Bloody hell. He's 29 and probably getting a 6 year $1/4 billion Super Max :o

Lillard is very good, when you see Bustangelo trying to emulate him with the "ice in my veins" crap it is cringeworthy.
