I see a lot of Gilbert Arenas and Kyrie Irving in his game. I prefer him to guys like Reddish, Hunter, White, etc. I'd take him as high as 4th, but fwiw right now he's sitting at 5 on my personal big board after Culver.

Can he pass or does that not matter for pgs anymore?

He can, but he’s not confident in his passing yet. He actually has some really nice ones, but his IQ wasn’t really there yet. Plus a good role man with the space will be great for him. He’s a scorning guard that will be mostly a pick and roll player. Kind of like how Kyrie Irving started in the league or how Lou Williams plays. Williams is probably the best comparison.

Other than age why should Garland rank ahead of Carson Edwards?

Young is easily better, Morant and Fox albeit different styles, almost as good

better than Young even, tighter and quicker. Young's fancier.

Tbh, after your bad takes against Young last year, I find this one hard to swallow too. I like Garland a lot, but his handles are not better than Young. Young toyed with college defenses with his handle and made them look straight up stupid. Young had elite handles. Garland? I would call them good, but not at Young's level nor better than him.

yea my takes on Young so far have been wrong so you're more than welcome to ignore or disregard my opinion here.

but I still stand by it: Garland has better handles.

Garland is being viewed as a potential starting pg. Edwards ceiling is offense only reserve

Are you hinting toward Edwards being more or Garland being less?

I’d love to see the Knicks draft him @ 4 or 5. Seems like RJ Barrett is destined for the knicks but garland would be exciting

Knicks have DSJ and maybe Kyrie in FA...I'd rather see Garland on his own team...Chicago makes a lot of sense

Wouldn’t that be a lot to put on this kid? His own team? He’s got a lot of developing to do. Don’t you think he’s going to do better if he goes to a Memphis type situation where he can play off the bench for a while? Or is he a day 1 franchise pg

I do like dsj and of course with the knicks it’s always the guys they’re “gonna get”. Sometimes when thinking about the knicks I forget about Kyrie and Durant and Anthony Davis and Zion and the rest

But for Young, they were wrong.

That said, you weren't the only one. A lot trashed Young. His 2nd half of the season with OU was awful for a lottery pick. I had him as a boom or bust. That said, he landed in the perfect situation. That's all you can hope for, for any of the prospects.

Memphis is a good spot for him too, but I want to just see him play...in NY with DSJ and Kyrie (IF that's what happens) there's no room for him.

if it's not Zion I think the best for for the Knicks is RJ...who should be able to play immediately off of Kyrie and Durant if that's what's gonna happen.

For me, nothing. For him, he is trying to say you have zero credibility and shut up. I like your opinions regardless if I agree to disagree.

I still don't like Trae Young... same poor % long ball chucker who's low release impacts his looks, still one of the worst defensive players in the league etc. I am impressed with his passing, always was, and the only key thing I have changed my mind on is his "dog" is better than I thought. He obviously is going to be in the league awhile because of how well he makes others better... but I still would not want that kind of defensive liability taking up a large chunk of my cap when his first big pay day rolls around, and sure as hell wouldn't trust him because of it in the post season. I know sos... but he hasn't done anything I didn't expect,so for those that love his game...like him for reasons that don't move the needle enough for me due to the fact I cannot discount the large contrast on the other side of the ball.
I can't wait to see if he becomes a solid defender somehow and shuts me up...but I aint expecting it
