DJ could really shine in this series if he gets a chance and takes it. He's the only guy besides Giannis that can switch 2-5.

Correct. It is going to be Saturday or Sunday. For what it is worth, Simmons on his podcast from earlier in week said he was hearing Sunday and Tuesday for Game 1 and 2...but who knows. That was recorded prior to the entire East being decided already.

NFL draft
Amazes me that anyone actually still watches “live” draft coverage on tv when social media is light years ahead

Boston is a well coached team with some talent. Should be a good matchup.
Terry Rozier still sucks though.

Sure you can follow along on Twitter, but draft parties are a pretty good excuse to get the crew together. I’m actually going to miss the first round to see Avengers instead Thursday night.

I think a lot of people forget he cooled off during the Bucks series last year. He started hot and people just went along with the narrative. Game 7 was an outlier, he started nailing 3’s when the game was already over. I’m sure the Bucks playing Jet for 30 minutes had nothing to do with it

Boston has to be kicking themselves for passing on trade offers for Rozier last summer

Stevens and Horford are the scariest.

Re: Round 2 Lead Up - Celtics on Deck
Man I want so much to crush the Celtics... But yeah it's gonna be tough and a test to the team. I'm with someone who said in Twitter that if the bucks pass this round they will very likely win it all lol. This is the test that is left for this team. Playoff game Vs a competent team. I'm sure down inside some players will doubt themselves a little bit when they face adversity mainly because of the things people say all the time about the experience in the playoffs.
However this team never gives up and are stubborn to fight to the end.
And for once is so good to have a competent coaching staff that you trust to explore the matchups and etc so vital in the playoffs.
Man I don't even have a date for the game and I'm already pumped about it..

Kyrie will do his thing and possible late game heroics scare me but not much outside of that in terms of really propelling the Celtics too far forward. Horford is a rock but unlike last year I don't think you can simply just "out solid" this Bucks team and I'm not sure he's got that extra gear. Stevens will have a good game plan, make solid adjustments and be tough to out maneuver in tight spots but let's be real, he's not going up against Jason Kidd anymore, there will be counter punches thrown.
Honestly the thing that scares me about Boston is the mediocres on their roster. If guys like Tatum, Brown, Morris and Hayward are just simply held to being the lackluster players that they are I think we win the series pretty handedly. When those guys start putting in 20+ it gives Boston a dimension that makes them much harder to deal with.
Oh and Terry Rozier still sucks.

your guess is good as mine. We haven't won a playoff series in 20 years so it's new for everyone.
Honestly? those guys who say POs is a different animal and everything that happened up to now doesn't matter?
I hope that's us next year. We did well to get the top seed and (probably) the MVP and go full throttle all year. But with those monkeys off our back we should now become the Rockets. Do nothing for the first half of the season, just experiment with rotations and cheap FAs. Sit people, invent injuries, never practice between games. Around the All Star break start practicing slowly, grab a decent seed by April, peak in May-June.
I totally get it in a scenario like that. Or LBJ coasting and taking 3 weeks off midseason in the past. Shaq being 60 lbs overweight and having surgery during the season on purpose to take the season off. What the Warriors do now where they just don't care. None of that applies to Boston right now though.

The Celtics are the only one of the top 4 east teams that didn't make a big move at the trade deadline, because they want to keep their assets to get Anthony Davis next year. We should have enough talent and coaching to win this series. Then, luckily, Toronto or Philly will have to lose to the other and we would probably have a 7 game series with the other. Get to the finals this year and there's a chance to win it now with Cousins out!
Next year things look rough. Durant and AD probably coming East to team up with a second all-star is tough considering we are less likely to have a major upgrade in talent. We will lose some of our good to border-line all-star free agents (Brogdon, Lopez, Mirotic, Middleton - yes I know he actually was an all-star but come on) and we won't have enough to sign a 2nd superstar to team with Giannis anyways so Giannis and Bledsoe will still be our 2 best players. Does that beat AD/Kyrie or Durant/Kyrie? Hard to get out of the East next year.
If we re-sign Middleton, do we ever give Giannis a 2nd superstar to play with before he leaves to play with one? I think we're better off trying to get the best discounts possible on all the others: Brogdon, Lopez, Mirotic on short deals and they - along with Sterling, Snell, D.J. and Donte are all tradeable on their contracts can maybe be packaged for a disgruntled superstar. I don't think many teams want borderline all-stars on 4/5 year deals so we'd be imprisoned.
Counterpoint: Kawhi leaves TOR. Sergei Baka and Kyle Lowry start reading their AARP mailers.
Jimmy Butt leaves Philly. JJ Reddick hits the Korver wall. Joe-L's knees, back and feet are on orange alert. Simmons goes Fultz outside the paint.
Kyle Irving leaves Boston for NYK. Everything Dolan teaches goes to rat scat, so imagine the darkest timeline and worsen it by 25%. Tatum gets his Kobe on and averages 23 ppg on 37%. Tom Heinsohn gets diagnosed with shingles.
The inevitability of Tacko Fall getting drafted by the Magic is but two months away. Area RGM user considers getting one of them Chinese knock-off jerseys to immortalize this special moment in time.
BK gets better, I continue to refer to them as Jerz, but pluck alone will not lead to an ascension to the fear zone.
There will be yelling and spittle and sweat in Chicago resulting in a 12th place finish. Stacey King will still continue to refer to Marvin Bagley as Melvin.

Boston just can not score in the restricted area. They had the 4th least attempts in the RA in the regular season, and were the worst in the games played so far in the playoffs (with the 3rd worst percentage). I think alternating between a less-drop zone with switching will run them off the floor.

Re: Round 2 Lead Up - Celtics on Deck
Spoiler:
Agree. I actually think we're poised to be East faves for the next several years barring something drastic happening with another contender assembling some superstars.
For our comp: Bos likely losing their one star
Phil losing at least one of Butler/Tobes and maybe both
Tor almost for sure losing Kawhi
Those are the most likely scenarios right now. Maybe something changes and AD gets to Bos and Kyrie stays, yea then not good. But comparing us to the other teams and I'd say we're the least 'win now' than any of them as they're facing losing their best players and we're not. Also, a KD/Kyrie combo in NYC doesn't scare me at all.

if boston goes small, this may be the series we see Brook just go HAM down in the block, they started posting him a little more towards the end of the season against small lineups and he was getting buckets.

In 1st, 2nd and 4th quarter Bled and Hill played a few minutes together.
I think this is interesting:
Pat C and Sterling in/out/in/out to give them short poses of rest so they keep on running. I think this is working very well in Q3 and it drives opponents nuts.
