Expectation of Fultz

Post#1 » by fendilim » Thu Apr 25, 2019 5:16 pm

Just curious, what kind of expectations do you have of Fultz when he comes back?

Do you guys think he can re-gain the game he had coming out of Washington?

If no, why not?

How long do you think WeHam will keep their hopes up on Fultz?

Honestly, I dont think he can go back to his old self. Although I think he’ll still be a good 6th man. Can finish around the basket and everything, defend and set teammates up. but I dont really expect his shot to be back where it was. Optimistically, Maybe just 75% of it.

I think WeHam might consider even sitting him out whole next season if he isnt 100% ready.

I have zero expectations for Fultz and I would find a short term upgrade at the point to be sure. If need be you can trade DJ if everything works out.

I think he'll at least be able to come off the bench and be an upgrade over MCW/Briscoe even with a busted shoulder. Whether he can eventually take the starting role will depend on whether or not he figured out how to overcome his shoulder issue. His jumper is depending on it.

This sounds good to me. I have been sold on the talent since his high school days.

His health and ability to stay on the court is what concerns me. Play games at a decent minutes per game rate and this this kid will put up respectable numbers. So I just don’t want to lock myself into those projections here.

Getting the same feeling I had when Grant Hill sat on our bench and I kept hoping his bright future was right around the corner.

I don’t feel confident about Fultz at all. Probably a role player like MCW off the bench. If he becomes anything more than that it’ll be a surprise.

I honestly don't believe he ever sees the court in a Magic uniform.

Nerve injuries are very tricky so I expect all star or out of the league.

Play Summer League ball, then we can graudate into making appearances for the season. If he doesn't play Summer League then who the heck knows.

Realistic: He comes off the bench during pre-season, plays well enough and shows potential. Expecting Rubio-esque performance (shooting numbers, shot creation, and defense - probably more blocks). Creates good opportunities for his teammates.

Optimistic: He comes off the bench during pre-season, demonstrates he's absolutely worthy of being a starter, makes it clear we've found our PG going forward. Greatly enhances the play of those around him.

One was owed 93m over 7 years and the other is still on his rookie scale, not sure how you get that same feeling.
PM me if you can help a brotha finally get an AVI.

Expectations are really low for my self as we gave nothing to acquire him so if he doesn't pan out it genuinely makes no difference and will not hinder the organization in any form.

I will be content him playing 50+ games, whatever he contributes statistically is the cherry on top.

Rookie contract that will make 10M next season and 12M in the other one. He isn't cheap by any means and I think we need to pickup his Team Option for 2020-2021 season before next season starts.

For a team over the cap already this means nothing. His potential and upside is worth the initial 10m. We will know what kind of player he can be before we need to decide to pick up his 12m option.

i think training camp will start before deadline to pick his option for next year.

And yes, his team's option is massive $12M for rookie scale contract.

we didnt give up nothing. we gave up #21 and #33 this year. will it hinder the Magic? probably not, but people need to stop saying that we gave up nothing for him. those could be Herro and Kevin Porter for example.

Expetations for Fultz ?
Let's start with something basic - return at training camp looking like funcional basketball player.
