Not a good fit for the offense or the team's needs, anyway. I would have considered him if he was there at 36, but even there I don't think he would have been my first choice.

That was in reference to Metcalf, if not obvious.

I wouldn’t trade up for him at the end of the first round, but had he been there at 36 I think he might’ve been my first choice.

Imagine Raiders trade to 2 for Bosa and we drop to 4 then some other team takes Q at 3. Ahh that would be TV off for me.

Lmao. Yeah Sick would take the first flight to California to go murder Kyle and Lynch. Sometimes it’s not good to be cute. Again as for me I’d be okay with Ed Oliver. I’m in the minority here, but I think the kid is special.

ED OLIVER
DL, HOUSTON COUGARS

On the Draft Analysts podcast, Tony Pauline said that the Falcons are "having conversations" regarding a possible move up in the draft in order to select Houston DT Ed Oliver.

"I continue to hear that the Atlanta Falcons are having conversations on moving up," Pauline said during the podcast. "They want Ed Oliver badly, but the question right now is how far would they have to move up to ensure selecting Ed Oliver. Right now it looks like (Atlanta) may have to get up to the number three spot, where the Jets are, in order to get Oliver, and that may cost a lot as far as picks are concerned." Oliver's name has been mentioned in connection with both the Jets and Raiders (fourth overall) in recent days, so the asking price will likely be high for a team like the Falcons. Atlanta is currently set to pick 14th overall in the first round.

MONTEZ SWEAT
DL, MISSISSIPPI STATE BULLDOGS

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported Thursday that Dr. James Muntz, a heart expert who examined Mississippi State EDGE Montez Sweat, believes the defensive lineman was misdiagnosed with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy at the NFL Scouting Combine.

As a result of the original diagnosis multiple teams took Sweat completely off of their draft boards, while others were of the impression that the ailment was not a major issue. According to the report the original measurement of Sweat's heart walls, which was close to 2.0 centimeters in thickness, accidentally included the capillary muscle and that should not have been the case. The new measurement is around 1.5 centimeters, which would mean "there is no risk for Montez Sweat under this diagnosis." Due to the questions surrounding his heart issue Sweat's stock was a bit volatile, with some teams projecting him to be a top-10 pick and others not considering him at all. This report could change some minds when it comes to the teams that removed the Mississippi State product from their draft boards.

All the buzz about the Jets trading should create more of a market for our pick.

At his point, I'd rather have Frank Clark. Clowney just seems to never really live up to his ability IMO, which is a big reason why the Texans have been such a big disappointment IMO.

And I realize this is probably a fruitless request, but can we maybe keep this thread limited to the draft itself? Keep the rumor stuff in the earlier thread?

Agreed. Clark head-and-shoulders above Clowney. If Ford netted a second, Clowney should get a third at best.

I'd prefer Q at 2 over trading down for Ed Oliver, but I'd be happy with either one.
