Tell that to KnicksGod the mod, who seems to think Allen is better. He surely hinted that way in one of those Nets suckfests that goes on in the Around the NBA thread.

It's a little concerning Mitch has had all these agents, but on the other hand he says he doesn't really care about much else in life but fishing for bass and playing basketball, so that bodes well. :-)

mitch seems pretty indecisive. it's true.

but i don't know if the marcel scott situation had to do with that. was marcel scott going to leave his life and work (including anthony davis) behind just to work with mitch and whoever else he could find in NY?

mitch needs to settle on something and find some stability. everything has been a bit of a crazy whirlwind for him since leaving college.
he needs a stable GF so he does not go chasing IG babes

Is there any universe where Mitch and Zion can exist on the same team? Without one of them developing an above average 3pt shot?

https://nypost.com/2019/04/26/knicks-mitchell-robinson-has-found-the-player-he-wants-to-emulate/

Mitch has decided he should emulate Embiid.

And the Knicks rookie center has decided the Sixers’ Joel Embiid is the center he wants to emulate.

“He’s a competitor. He just goes at it,’’ Robinson said at an autograph appearance Thursday at the NBA Store in Manhattan. “He goes after everyone. No matter who you are, he goes after you. I really like that about him.’’

I think Zion will end up ok for a PF. Yeah his percentages werent too hot at Duke but he took so few attempts and often rushed them but I see potential over a long career. Im sure nobody at Duke had him practicing 3s. Actually that was thier problem.

If Blake Griffin could exist with Deandre Jordan on the Clips why not Mitch and Zion on our squad? Blake has been an average 3pt shooter over his career.

Did they? Exist on a level high enough to win in the playoffs? Cuz I’d like more for that Knicks then a perennial 2nd round exit

Yes they did... and when you consider that each of them could potentially surpass their counterparts and you add not one but 2 major FA's , it becomes even more plausible.

Mitch is no Bol Bol, though.

Ha, I kid. Bol Bol has a lot of skills, way more at his age than Mitch. Both are thin guys, but Bol Bol seems to feature playing in the post a lot - not that he doesn't have other skills from the other levels - and it feels like he'll get pushed off the blocks and be less effective. Can he counter with jumpers and 3's? Sure. Just not sure how long it'll take for him to put on strength to play like he does against weaker, smaller college players - or if he'll ever do it.

he's been blessed by god.

"Blocking shots is a gift, it comes to those people who study the game. And I think Mitchell, he has that gift," Dikembe Mutombo told SNY at a fundraising event on Thursday. "He's going to be good."

Mutombo, speaking at a dinner to raise money for the cleft lip and palate charity, Smile Train, said he watched several of Robinson's games last season.

"I'm plenty impressed with him. He's very gifted, he can jump out of the building," said Mutombo, No. 2 on the career blocks list (3,289). "…. Hopefully he will block more shots than I did."

The Knicks would certainly sign up for that. Mutombo is in the Hall of Fame after playing 18 years in the league. Robinson, the No. 36 pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, far exceeded expectations in his rookie season.

His 2.4 blocks per game were the most for a rookie who played at least 35 games since Tim Duncan blocked 2.5 shots per game in 1997-98.

He also led the NBA with 24 blocked 3-pointers.

"It's a different game," Mutombo said with a smile when that stat was brought up. "He's very talented. But there's nobody who can block a shot like Mr. Mutombo."
