Would we draft Winovich in the 3rd to play OLB? Create an even nastier front 7?

Hey, there's one of my favorites - Trysten Hill to the Cowboys.

Appeared on a number of 2018 national award preseason lists but with a new coaching staff the team changed from a 3-4, where he played NT, to a 4-3 at the start of the year and that moved him to more of a back up role as he tried to fit in with the new system.

Only saw 1 start in 2018 and missed another game entirely. Despite not starting, he recorded 15 more tackles and 6 more TFL in 2018 and the coaches agreed that he was more productive for them.

Dominated in the 2018 AAC Championship game vs. Memphis (6 tackles, 3 TFL).

Moves very well for his size and has good explosiveness off the ball. Production is inflated a bit due to some garbage time stats.

Some of the best movement skills in NFL Combine on-field drills that I've ever seen.

Campbell had the 5th highest yards per route run in this class - 3.47 (Isabella, E. Hall, Shepherd, Marq. Brown). 3rd highest number of slot receptions and 5th most slot yards in his class. 88.3% slot rate.

To revisit Samuel for a minute, now that we've seen how much of the second has shaken out, we should have traded back with the Panthers. We could have had Samuel and #77. That's the big reason I'm irritated about the move. It was too early with too much talent elsewhere.

And that's basically my biggest beef with our FO in the draft. They fixate on the players they want and don't care about value. They trade up needlessly. They pass on opportunities to trade back. And I'll hold them to it on this one. As soon as we made the pick I said we should have moved back, and as soon as we learned the details of the Hawks' trade, I said that should have been us. Could have had Samuel and possibly another starter.

I'd rather focus on creating a semi-competent back-four. Really back-five since we spend more time in nickel than base.

And to clarify, as I'd expressed some doubts about Adderly earlier, that was at 36 on our roster. At 60, playing opposite an elite and versatile safety, he's a great pick.

Just knew this would be the pick and I’m OK with. Sure he doesn’t have the highest ceiling but he can step in day one and play imo. Excellent route runner, physical and goes up for the ball well. He should feast in the end zone. One of my favorite players at Senior Bowl week. Him and McLaurin stood out to me.

Isabella, Kirk and Harry for AZ after Fitz retires. Interesting.

Return to San Francisco 49ers
