I saw a mock draft earlier this morning projecting Grier to the Panthers.

Back-to-back West Virginia picks - Grier and Yodny Cajuste.

I was very up-and-down on Cajuste when I watched him. There's something there but there's a lot of things that need to be worked on.

A ton of talent falling. Hopefully we trade down and get a 5th round pick and get the reach player we would have drafted anyway.

Am I doing it right?

Boise State Alex Mattison to the Vikings.

Very good make-you-miss ability for his size.

60 career catches with ZERO drops.

Some scouts actually like him better as a corner, too.

Dear, Lord. What did Amani Oruwariye do to every NFL general manager?

Chauncey Gardner-Johnson still available. I thought for sure he'd be gone by now. I don't like that they are betting on Jimmie Ward again. He's had too many chances. CGJ is a complete Safety. I would draft him in the 4th tomorrow.

Apparently there is some concern about DK and PEDs.

Cujuste the the Rams is annoying.

Yeah, if we weren't going to go DBs, I'm disappointed we didn't take Risner in the 2nd or Edoga in the third.

So my thoughts on Day 2 for the Niners: overall, I'm not very happy. I'm just a tiny bit torn, as I like aspects of both Samuel and Hurd, particularly in a Shanahan offense. But this FO is delusional if they think we're set in the defensive backfield. If we were going to double up anywhere, it should have been there. Taking two WRs - and yes, I realize Hurd may be more like a TE - just blows my mind. In the second, we could have effectively had our pick of CBs. And there was plenty of talent available in the third, too - though Thornhill going a few spots before our pick was disappointing. As I've said, if Samuel was going to be our second round pick, I would have jumped at the trade back that the Hawks got. We could have had Samuel and Edoga to challenge for RG/groom for RT. Or Winovich to play SAM. Or David Long at corner.

I'm legit worried that our management thinks they're smarter than they are. Our defensive backfield was a train wreck last year. Yes, improving the pass rush should make some difference, but it's not a cure-all. Just look at the Chiefs last year. Our corners and safeties were a liability, by and large. And we seem to be relying on two of the most injured players in recent history in Ward and Verrett to pick up the slack. It's a terrible plan in a year in which we could actually be competitive. I would really like to see us take either Oruwariye or Love at the top of the 4th. If not them, then Gardner-Johnson. Then it's a long drought until we pick again.

We screwed up the second round pick so bad that it’s not even funny. Not only was he not the best player available at that spot, he wasn’t even the best receiver remaining on the board. I like Jalen Hurd but that was an obvious reach as well. I like him but not at the expense of passing up on someone like Hakeem Butler. Going back to Deebo, who i’m not big on at all. He’s a good receiver indeed but to me he’s not on Christian Kirk’s level (a legit slot receiver worthy of a high second round pick). A second round pick to me should always be spent on that one player who had gotten a first round grade, but for whatever reason managed to fall to the second round (JuJu, Kirk, Byron Murphy, Greedy, etc.). At this it’s too late for us to try to fix our phuck up—we’re better off waiting for next year’s draft to draft our elite defensive back. We phucked up two years in a row with that. Last year it should have been Derwin James and this year Greedy should have been the pick or either one of the Ole Miss receivers (D.K. / AJ Brown).

My remaining favorites on day 3:

1.) Hakeem Butler (no way we get another WR)
2.) Mack Wilson (I actually gave him a 2nd round grade)
3.) Julian Love
4.) Deionte Thompson
5.) Amani Oruwariye
6.) Kelvin Harmon (he’s going to make another team happy)
7.) Terrill Hanks
8.) Bryce Love
9.) Rodney Anderson
10.) Daylon Mack

Beau Benzschawel is still out there too!

The winners to me so far are:
Cleveland Browns (don’t forget their ‘19 first rd pick)
Arizona Cardinals

I have to disagree with all of you. This draft so far is the best draft class we've had since the 2012 debacle. Amani is still on the board at CB. Our injury prone players are working with one of the best in the business now in Ben Peterson. I have all my faith in him. Players are going to come in, in the best shape of their career. Time for Shanny to prove his worth

I've been saying for a couple weeks that I would have passed on WR in round two and taken McLaurin in the third or Harmon in the fourth. I didn't expect Butler to still be on the board, but I figured the position would still have talent. As said, Samuel had better be damn good to justify the pick.

Though I think they see Samuel as a flanker rather than a slot.

Damn for real, is that what they indicated to the media/fans? He played flanker in college but I thought he projected better in the slot. I’m more excited about the Hurd pick than I am with the Samuel pick. Ditto—he better be so good that it’s not funny. I love his first name too, a classic name for a football player.
