So the Brandon Weeden of punters was worth a high 4th?

Umm, yeah no he wasn't.

Its very sad that this team's drafting hasn't improved after getting rid of Baalke.

How many teams have used draft picks on punters twice in 5 years?

I can't imagine its a long list.

Whishnowsky is the highest drafted punter (110) since the Jaguars took Bryan Anger in the 3rd (70) in 2012.

Other 4th round punters: Jaguars Adam Podlesh (4th - 101 in 2007), Daniel Sepulveda (4th - 112 in 2007).

Chiefs took Dustin Colquitt in the 3rd round (99) in 2005.

Good point. There's still hope. Lynch can still crush this draft by trading up for a long snapper.

How many teams have used draft picks on punters in 2/5 drafts?

I can't imagine its a long list.

Pinion was taken in 2015.

Kaser, Dixon, and Edwards were taken in 2016.

None in 2017.

Dickson, Scott, Townsend, and Cooke were taken last year.

Teams use draft picks on punters often. Sometimes higher than many others would.

I'm not an advocate of it unless it's a special circumstance. I said this year Jamie Gillan was a special circumstance for me.

Dickson is my all-time favorite punting prospect since 1998. I definitely wanted to last year and would've done it higher than the Seahawks (my history of saying it is there).

Anyway.....

Looking back: Burns and Christian Miller to the Panthers is scary.

Amani Hooker to the Titans. One of the safer box safeties in this class.

Jamie Gillan popped 4 footballs while training for the draft.

Hjalte Froholdt to the Patriots. Patriots-esque.

Denmark native. Only played 2 years of high school football. Started 37 of 47 career games. Playing against length is a huge knock against him.

Seahawks take West Virginia receiver Gary Jennings. Projects well to the slot receiver position (98.2% slot rate in 2018). Very good at locating, coming to, and attacking the football. Good 54% contested catch percentage. Smooth catching. Very scary deep speed.

I don't love that for them.

Trevon Wesco to the Jets. I never could quite get there to the point where I thought he'd be a target of mine but I got close.

270+ lbs. but can move a bit. Can play some FB and might be best suited to a team that still uses one and looked comfortable in that role at the Senior Bowl. Projects very well to STs.

Yeah, I know punters are drafted periodically.

My question was how many team have drafted punters 2 different times in a span of 5 years?

As I said, I can't imagine that is a long list. Let alone taking 2 with mid round picks, like Frisco has.

I always get a google chuckle out of these draft day threads.

Years ago I used to react similarly when I didn’t get my way in the draft.
