I think I might know where Kawhi might shop at.

No Frills.

The guy doesn't want to do flashy things, he just really wants to beat you.

Dude, did you not watch the game? In 4th quarter, the game got away from Sixers with Ibaka on the floor and Gasol didn't need to go back in. I'm sure if Sixers fought back, Gasol would've got back in. And Ibaka did admirably against Embiid as the game went on.

Yes I did watch the game, every second. Gasol should be on the floor every second that Embiid is on, and on the bench every second that Embiid is on the bench. It's that simple. Same applies with Vucevic in the last series, but apparently Nurse still didn't learn that Ibaka can't handle traditional bigs.

Go look up how many points Embiid scored on Gasol, and how many points he scored on Ibaka.

If ibaka can provide the interior d to get the crowd behind us, we’ll be fine

Why are people hating on Ibaka? He did well in the second half and his interior D and rebounding was key to our run in the 4th.

Dude, we won by 13. The raps were in control from the get go. Embiid played 30, Gasol played 26. If this game was close and Embiid made the difference and won them the game, then by all means, I'd be right there asking why Gasol wasn't guarding him. Just like how I was upset when Kawhi only played 33 mins in game one v. Orlando.

In this game, the four minutes difference is a non-issue.

Counterpoint:. Embiid made 5 buckets in this game. Raptors never were in true danger of being so far behind that they may actually lose. The Raptors controlled this game probably 90% of the time.

It's a 7 game series, with us gunning for the championship. If we can save Gasols minutes but also ensure Ibaka plays at a confident level do it. It was great that Nurse let him play through his struggles and get swag back in the 4th. Coaching is also about development and management of player roles and morale. Raptors gonna need Ibaka when a team goes small them.

So Raptors won, limited Gasols minutes, built up Ibakas confidence and still won by 10+ with Philly submitting. On top of that, Raptors left many points of attack on the table to save for another game. Drive your Ferrari, coach.
Pretty neat and on the fridge for the real fans:

ya we won so I won't complain much...still I hope Nurse adjusts and matches Gasol's minutes with Embiid's in the following games...all you have to do is look at the numbers to see that it's a no brainer.

Go look up how many points Raptors scored today and how many points the Sixers scored. It was a frickin' blowout with Sixers waiving the flag with what? 4-5 minutes left in the game? How TF do you complain about a starter playing less in a blowout?

In general, yes, you want Gasol matched up against Embiid most of the time. At the same time, I understand what Nurse wanted to do in terms of rotation. You can't be reactive to everything the other team does if you want to be a true contender. You've got to do your thing and dictate what your opponents do. Let them react to you. Not the other way around. You've got to make the effort to do that, see how that works, and make adjustments accordingly. (meaning more Gasol on Embiid if Embiid was actually giving us more problems) Fortunately, it worked out for us today. Casey did not do that and that's why he's no longer here.

I feel Nurse knows Embiid is on one leg....i was pretty surprised the amount of time Ibaka spent on him. If it became a problem I could see Gasol sharing the court with him every second.

I trust what Nurse is doing...it's just hard watching Ibaka matchup with Embiid....or watching Ibaka play against any traditional big. Even against Vucevic I couldn't stand watching Ibaka defend him. He gets bullied just because of the size difference.

We didn't play that great. We can't win the series this way, we need contributions from everyone in the starting line-up. We also need our bench - Norm, FVV and Ibaka - to play like they've played in the playoff before. Lowry is key, he needs to be a better third option too. Defense made too many mistakes on cuts. They need to get better.

And we need Danny to be a little more productive.

Ibaka needs some of those reps. If Gasol is in foul trouble we want Ibaka to have had some experience with defending Embiid for stretches and tape to show how it went wrong.
