**** yes!!!!
He came from Griffin, so to leave him at the altar says something about how much he likes working here.
Rest of the league, go **** yourselves.
We got a champion to build.

Retaining Redden
I'm actually pleasantly surprised that Trent Redden would stay on given his ties to David Griffin and the fact that he would have been elevated to GM had he gone to New Orleans. However, it also makes sense to stay with the Clippers given how poised we are to accomplish some big things in the immediate future.
Not only could Michael Winger and Redden gain more experience and knowledge sticking with a first-rate club being advised by Jerry West, but odds are the Clippers' anticipated success would increase their respective values even further where they will likely have opportunities to run their own teams at possibly more desirable locations in the near future.
The Lakers looks like an organization that will need a fresh voice after the eventual failure and dismissal of Rob Pelinka. The Knicks, under James Dolan, are always a tantrum away from hiring a new organizational leader. Seattle is expected to eventually be awarded an expansion franchise, so working under an influential owner with ties to the area and a successful organization in Los Angeles would probably give either Winger or Redden a leg up in the competition once the Supersonics return to the NBA scene. This doesn't even factor in the perpetual turnstiles in Phoenix and Cleveland respectively under Robert Sarver and Dan Gilbert.
In the end, Winger and Redden made the sensible choice to return and will likely have their pick of vacant leadership positions as they become available over the coming years. With that all settled, I still want more talent evaluators added to our current front office.

Re: Timberwolves to Interview Michael Winger; New Orleans Targeting Trent Redden
Clippers’ brain trust continues to meld in preparation for huge offseason“I didn’t want to entertain leaving our people,” Winger said. “Would it have been personally very challenging and enlightening in a lot of ways? Sure. There are only so many of those opportunities. But I quite frankly think there are even fewer like the one I’m in.”“Steve’s willingness to tell Lawrence to go get guys that are some of the best at each of their individual fields, and then [ask] what do they need to do well, is what has kept me,” Redden said.“There are some guys who are basically great scouts,” Frank said. “There are some guys that are great at the strategy. There are some that are all-stars with analytics. Trent understands how to bridge all three. There aren’t many people who can do that.”“Griff is going to win” in New Orleans, Redden said. “But the foundation of what we have been able to build in the 20 months I’ve been here is hard to walk away from.”
