The media is starting to push the Nets > Knicks for KD narrative. First person I heard talking about was Windhorst months ago, but now some folks are attaching themselves to that train of thought.

Well, it's not like KD is undecided and waiting for the media to counsel him on what to do. After all, he can't stand the media.

This is all just unnecessary noise that will have no bearing on the outcome.

you would think we should get a couple more 1st rounders by taking bad contracts for people who want to be players in FA.

For example I would take on a Chandler Parsons like 25 million expiring for a 1st round pick + any other contracts that a contender wants to free up space to pursue a FA.

We would be able to take on major contracts and collect major assets to add to the war chest.

This is the only plan B.

Man if we do get kd+kyrie+Zion watching the media members/knick haters weep will be glorious.

That may be better than winning a championship.

i'm on board with this plan, we should use the cap space to accumulate more picks or absorb the bad contract in tandem with another promising young player, this is the best way forward if no KD

You think they’re willing to do that after all this build up?

If KD went to Brooklyn I wouldn't stop throwing up.

This is going to be the longest two months ever.

Especially if we end up with 4th or 5th in the lottery.

they specifically said on difference making FA's they will go after. To me that means no Kemba Walkers (unless he comes with KD). No Tobias Harris no Vucevic types. Only the 4 K's (KD, Kyrie, Kawhi, Klay...maybe kemba if you get KD.

I think so. The build up has always been the media, the organization has seemed to hint that they won't spend money on non-superstars. People will then ask why we waived Noah or traded Porzingis but I think we know there were other off the court issues that factored into these moves. Plus as stated above the cap space can be used in other ways than just maxing out FAs so we can still use it to build the team.

Let’s hope. We should have been doing this for years and setting ourselves for 2019 but better late than never
