The Gasol trade was our downfall
playoff JV would be beasting...probably get Embiid in foul trouble at least one game
We get killed on the boards now
Dwright is better than FVV
MU just needs to take the L on the Gasol trade

That's Kevin Harlan.

Playoff JV beasted in the last few minutes of the Cavs series where he choked away game 1? Don't think so bud.

The Gasol trade was fine.
Hiring Nick Nurse as a head coach of a wannabe contender was our downfall.

Re: The Gasol trade was our downfall
I never seen a player not want to shoot open shots or on mismatches so much before. He played hot potato with Powell that led to a long two by Powell, and I'm sitting there going wtf shoot it yourself.
"I definitely knew he traveled, but I didn't know they were going to call it. That was one of them situations in which a great player made a move...and they called the call. And I was like, 'Oh, man, there is a God.'

Or maybe we just need to see how the final 4 games of this series play out? Just throwing that out there.

It can be argued that he's had more big moments in key wins than moments like that game, where he missed bunny after bunny. No doubt he would show more aggression and grit than what Marc is providing in this series, not to mention help on the glass...

I’ll stick to my random assumption. I think MU knows what’s up. Kawhi is not resigning. Unloading those guys for one last title run for Gasol and opening up the books was what that was all about. We literally unloaded half the team and even Monroe to free up money for the future. Monroe doesn’t tip he needle but for sure woulda been more then serviceable in the playoffs. Obviously Gasol is not his former self. We probably woulda faired better with all those guys in hindsight, but I think that’s MU knowing what’s up and swinging for the fences.

I said it from day one: viewtopic.php?f=32&t=1802716
Re post by will graham above, we didn't really free up space given Gasol is exercising his $25.6m player option next year. Enjoy watching his expensive slowness all next year.

Do you remember the year we took 2 games off the champs in the ECF?
JV was injured and it was thanks to Biz.
With JV we lost 8 straight vs the Cavs. He wasn't exactly a playoff stud who led us to good results.

He free'd up no money unless Gasol opts out
Good luck thinking he's walking away from 25 million next year. Teams hate paying bigs..cousins couldn't even get paid last year. Gasol opts out I bet he signs for the minimum or a Brook Lopez Bucks type contract

Raps haven't had a reliable big-game C since Bismack Biyombo.

Not building a true Big 3 was our downfall. We could have gone for Butler and had Lowry Butler Kawhi.

JV gifted us a 2-1 lead over MIA to bring us to ECF
And that was the least competitive ECF series, we were obliterated in all our Ls
Ya JV can't get us past LBJ alone, but he could help Kawhi today, which is the point

Re: The Gasol trade was our downfall
Raptors fans kept saying Gasol is better than JV. Well what happened? Embiid dropped 30 points today while Gasol was playing hot potato the entire game. Useless on defense and offense, can't rebound. Old and unathletic.
