I think he’s much rather live in LA , coach a Lebron led team, and work for the Lakers, who will be in the hunt for a second superstar, than to go live in the hot desert and coach a very young team that will probably lose close to 60 games.

The Suns haven't made an offer to Monty.

I thinly Monty knows that the suns job is similar to the pelicans job in which he will get fired in a few seasons when they keep losing. I don’t believe the media any coach would die to coach the lakers with Lebron. I just think lakers are still being picky

I would love him as the HC but he has to bring in another offensive guy. Ty Lue is much better when it comes to scheme.

I think Monty would be a great sell to potential free agents too. He's got a way about him with people and building relationships. You take Monty & LeBron to a pitch meeting and I would feel pretty damn comfortable with that.

But his scheme offensively really worries me. Reminds me too much of Luke in that sense.

Monty has a record of 173 wins and 221 losses for under 44%.
First year with CP3, David West, Okafor, Ariza etc. his team was good with defense, 10th in the league, 19th on offense, 46 wins
2nd year, he loses CP3,West etc but gains Gordon, Aminu, still had ARiza. etc, they win just 21 wins. Yes, losing CP3 etc took a heavy toll but IMO, they have not excuse losing so much esp seeing Thibs, JVG, Rivers etc lose superstars before.
3rd year, they get Davis, Anderson, Vasquez, Still had Gordon, just 27 wins, 28th in defense, 16th offense
4th year, freaking 34 wins, 27th in defense, 13th offense inspited of adding Tyreke Evans, Jrue for 34 games.
5th year, 45 wins but was still ranked a very low 22nd on defense, 8th on offense inspite of having Omar Asik who had a great 94 DRTG with the Bulls. '
Lue in fairness was also pretty bad on defense but at least he put his stamp on offense ESPECIALLY when he lost Kyrie to Boston, ranking 5th best on ORTG.

That'd be great

This is no doubt a ploy by Williams and his agent group to put pressure on the Lakers to offer the job to him if they want it.

Or he gone. Which is great

We all knew this was coming.

Former Laker - Super important to Jeannie

LeBron likes him

“Championship coach” (whatever)

And Monty knew this was coming too, which is why he didn’t waste his time twiddling his thumbs waiting on us to tell him the obvious. I’ll say this. We BETTER get some shooters if we’re going to seriously give Lue a shot to succeed.

Monty ain’t that great. Totally fine with him losing in Phoenix. He will be back on the market next season or the season after

Much better selection than Monty Williams. There are a lot of memes about Lue, but he's a good coach. And, despite all the beliefs that he's a "puppet" of lebron, he isn't afraid to call lebron out.

You at-home experts are hilarious. Crying over Monty when he's never made it past the first round and b**ching about Lue when he's already HAD success with LeBron. Kidd wouldn't have been better either smh

I don’t even know what the big knock on Lue is?

Because he is viewed as “Lebrons puppet”. However if Lue gets top level defensive assistants I am good with him. He cannot allow this poor defense

There were reports that Lue told Lakers be wants to be a Lakers coach and not a LeBron coach. Be interesting to see how he repairs the locker room to begin.

Great. So the choice we wanted the least is going to be the eventual winner. Where are we going to find our shooters?

For starters Middleton, reddick, and bogdonavic are all free agents.

If Redick leaves philly it's to go to Brooklyn. His wife isn't letting him move anymore. (They live in Brooklyn).
