Bulls Sign Jim Boylen To Multi-Year Contract Extension

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Fri May 3, 2019 7:35 pm

The Chicago Bulls have agreed to a multi-year contract extension with Jim Boylen.

Boylen replaced Fred Hoiberg as head coach during the 18-19 season.

"Jim has a strong vision on where he wants to take this team, and he has done a great job establishing the culture that we want this organization to stand for as we continue to progress. He has tremendous passion for developing young talent, is a strong communicator and a good fit for this team. The organization is confident in the direction that he is taking our players, and we are committed to him," Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations John Paxson said in a news release on Friday.

Just a hunch, but, in other words, Boylen agreed to continue to be the lowest paid head coach in the NBA.

Tone deaf.

Please, oh please sell this team and get someone at the helm that cares more about winning at basketball, and isn't stuck in the 80s/90s. Hey, I loved em too - but it's a new era, and the Bulls are so far behind in the rear view it's not even funny.

At least Boylen isn't Boylan, and once shined Pop's shoes!

After finishing 29th in offensive rating...? Is this a joke...? Boylen runs the most out of date, old fashioned, inefficient offense in the entire league. Bulls management is completely clueless.

And thus the process begins...
"Wes, Hill, Ibaka, Allen, Nwora, Brook, Pat, Ingles, Khris are all slow-mo, injury prone ... a sandcastle waiting for playoff wave to get wrecked. A castle with no long-range archers... is destined to fall. That is all I have to say."-- FOTIS

Why all the hate? Is Popovich coming through the door? Why should we get a recycled coach that did not succeed at his former spot? Seems like a coach should be give at the very least 2 years to prove himself. If the bulls don’t make any progress next year then let him go. Doesn’t make sense to cut someone loose after 1 year unless you are trying to lose.

Boylen is not a good head coach for this team; the players don’t respect him. The Bulls ownership is simply frugal and the front office knew they could hire him for cheap.

Get used to losing Bulls fans, especially since this guy couldn’t even tank properly for Zion. The entire Bulls organization from the top down is pathetic; I feel bad for the players.
