Toronto looks like a one man show in the playoffs the last two games.

Kawahi must know he has to come and play with a Superstar to win in the Playoffs. Seeing the Sixers are stacked up. Kawahi should come to LA for the chance to build a strong team that will compete for years to come in his hometown area with family support and good weather.

Clippers are good but if you want to advance in the Playoffs you have to have two Superstars and a solid cast

Lebron and Kawahi is a tough team with Ball, Kuzma,

or if Griffin is the smart guy he'll trade AD for Lebron with Lebron's star power far greater than anyone from Boston.
I'm not sure if Lebron can block a trade to NO.

But this looks like a playoff team also that can carrier farther than Toronto.

Free Agent Possibilities

Post#83 » by myersia » Sat May 4, 2019 1:43 am

Alright who is in favor of signing Kyrie? Not trying to be the Cavs and I understand that Kyrie can be injury prone with an ego...but since we are changing the team to fit better with bron and win I feel like maybe we should consider a ball and Ingram trade for an allstar or two starting great shooting role players.

Kyrie, trade player obtained, bron, kuz, trade player obtained.

Yes you can make the Cavs jokes but let’s be real if it works I guess we should go with it...or maybe I’m just losing it. Idk anymore with this team. We could keep ball and put Kyrie at the 2 but idk if Kyrie would be affective that way.

Ball, Leonard, Ingram has the potential to be one of the beastliest defensive frontlines ever assembled.

Replace Leonard with Klay and that threesome is still more or less impenetrable.

The Lakers should focus on signing free agents that fit into their system and compliment the young core and Lebron James. This approach would be best because the Lakers have a team built around Lebron. Can another superstar compliment him. My opinion is Kevin Durant does not want to play with Lebron; he desires his team and he is the man. Building a good team with very good players that know how to win would be the best approach for the Lakers. Stability with the coaching staff, front office, top management and players is very important to have everyone on the same page from start of training camp to the end of the season. Superstars do not always blend with superstars do remember the trio of Westbrook Durant and Harden all on the same team but stark differences of team chemistry and basketball savvy to win big games in the playoffs.

Kyrie is clearly on the short-list of FA targets we should be trying to acquire. He's a pretty good fit because he can play next to Lonzo in the back-court. Would need a defensive 5 as well.

My favorite is still Kawhi, though. He'd make us an instant contender.

Butler is a decent opportunity if Kawhi isn't interested.

I wonder if this is the in depth analysis that Magic was providing in the board room.

I remember watching a Grant Hill interview and he said something along the lines of 'I saw we signed Tracy McGrady and thought he was coming in to be my help. After our first workout I realized that I was the help.'

That literally has to be LeBron's approach if he wants to help the Lakers get Kawhi to sign on the dotted line. They really need to sell Kawhi on the fact that he will be the MJ and Bron will be the Pippen because at this point in their careers, that's pretty much the what it will have to be.

That said, I really feel like there is a strong chance that Kawhi curves everyone and joins the Lakers as their on-court alpha while LeBron continues to operate as a figurehead team leader.

Sounds about right Lebron is much older than Kawhi but still can help this team with Kawhi being the top Superstar carrying the load.
Having a Great Coach who can blend the two ego's and their possee to co-exist takes a Zen master type of Coach which does not exist in the current NBA. Maybe a student of the Zen Master would work. Ty Lue was a student

Kawhi wasn’t coming to the Lakers because of Lebron before this season...did he see something this year that would change his mind?

Is it certain (like with KD) that Kawhi doesn't want to play with Lebron?

My dream signing would be Kawhi. But if not him...…….. I don't know..... Kyrie or Klay. I don't know if Klay + Leborn + kids make us a contender. Same with Kyrie or Butler.

Having two of the best players in the world (KD and Kawhi) refusing us because of Lebron is pretty grim man.

As far as we know Kawhi has not made up his mind so it is up in the air.

Clippers have a bad history and with new ownership trading Blake to Detroit after he sign a big contract looks bad.

Sign lot of years expecting to be there a while and then get traded away that was not good if Im a free agent.

Lakers will come back together.

Growing up in the Area most don't dream of being a Clipper.

Cippers are good but need a Super star other than Kawhi to reach the next level

His whole “Monty chose Phoenix over the Lakers” commentary was laughable.

No one, including Woj, reported that the Lakers offered Monty the job. Woj’s own reporting puts Lue as the favorite since the start. So really Monty didn’t choose anything as the Lakers were never a choice for him, but of course Woj is going to be lean all the way against the Lakers whenever ambiguity allows it.

Stay honest with ourselves, and focus our energy on guys like Vucevic and Kemba. We are quite simply not going to be a strong contender for the top level stars and we need to make sure we don't strike out this summer. Focus on the second or third tier guys and make sure they fit right next to LBJ.
