‪If Lue takes the job, Frank Vogel — former coach of the Indiana Pacers and Orlando Magic — could join his staff as a lead assistant, sources said. ‬

Great if true

this is why I want Lue. I think he gets the best group around him. He learned from his mistakes in Cleveland. I think he is going to be a lot better than people expect. At least that’s all we can hope for right now.

Lue can't do **** with this roster... His hiring is secondary in importance to either hiring a GM or getting a quick pass/fail call on Pelinka...

My main concern about hiring Lue is more about the message it sends to potential Free Agent signings... Lue tells everyone this is LeBron's team... Some of the FAs aren't going to be thrilled with that.

This.

Kawhi might resign with Toronto, in other unrelated news today.

Listen to your uncle, Kawhi.

I’ve never seen a more quiet and relaxed 39-13-5 in a semi finals. And, @ 60% shooting...

If Lue gets Vogel, I will feel a lot better about this hire.

Atleast the Lakers would be happier getting their wish of a more experienced coaching staff, which was a constant issue with Walton.

Frank Vogel was an advanced scout for guess who? The Lakers back in 2005-06.

not sure how i feel about this... like normally it would be a positive thing and perhaps Bron's posse knows Lue asked him, but also is he ALREADY doing Lue's freaking job?

Bleacher report is paraphrasing poorly there, the isola article says that LeBron's camp were encouraged at lue's proposal to bring on thibs but thibs turned down the Lakers approach because he's still getting paid by Minnesota and wants to wait it out for a head coaching opportunity.

Can you share the link where you get this idea that Lue is telling everyone this is Lebron's team? :o
Was this from the past Cleveland years when Lebron was younger? Do you really think he will tell the free agent the same thing with Lebron at age 34 coming from a pretty bad groin injury, esp when they are actually asking them to join the team? Let me again point out the Kyrie and Mo Williams actually have their highest points per game career when they played next to Lebron, same with Kuzma's young career, who could have less touches but it didn't happen. McGee also just had his highest pts/game next to Lebron the past 6 years.
Not a few fans here don't like Lue because they think he is merely a Lebron puppet, which I find crazy bec in essence, they are giving too much credit to Lebron then.

Thibs won’t get another HC opportunity in the NBA until he does some time as an assistant or in some other ranks.

I can see him getting a college job potentially if he stays stubborn about wanting a HC gig.

fart wrote:Woah boy. From a Cavs fan, I can tell you this guy is a certified idiot. His performance without LeBron is pathetic. Get used to him never playing young guys and giving all the minutes to 40 year old vets.

He is easily one of the worst coaches I've seen. Terrible rotations, refuses to play rookies, no play calling whatsoever, forgets he has timeouts (game 1 of last year's finals). I am truly shocked he is going to get another head coaching gig. Y'all will be hating this guy 2 months into the season.

This is just a schmuck who happened to be at the right place at the right time when Kyrie and LeBron decided to go nuclear in the 2016 finals to win the title.

You basically described Walton so can’t be any worse.

Vogel would be a good get as an assistant coach.
