Picked up Days Gone because I had a $50 gift card, it’s fun and I would probably agree with meta critic reviews putting it around 70. I’ll probably enjoy it for 10-15 hours before losing steam.

It has the framework to be an amazing game, if they fix some of the key areas like the story and such, add co-op and beef up the crafting and some controls it’d be a GotY candidate.

So if they majorly revamp the game it would be GotY? :P

Haha precisely, I more so meant when Days Gone 2 comes out. The idea behind it is golden, execution was poor ya chump!

I’m gonna need a new laptop soon - anyone have any suggestions? I’m abandoning Apple. I would love a 2-in-1 if possible, but I’d also love something with discrete graphics to be able to handle light single player gaming sufficiently.

What’s your budget? I’ve been toying with the idea of getting a laptop for on the go gaming (travel for work has really picked up) and I’ve got my eye on a few.

I’d prefer a $1500 maximum probably, but $1200 would be even better.

I really just want to be able to play something on the go. Discrete gfx would be excellent, but I don’t need a Razer or anything like that (unless it just so happens to be the right choice).

I’ve looked at a few, but - understandably - the 2-in-1 market doesn’t have many discrete gfx options. There’s a Dell but there seem to be some issues some have with it - haven’t done all my research there yet.

I really like the Huawei Matebook X Pro. I got it for $1500 but I've seen them for $1200. 3k touchscreen, i7 with 16gb ram and 500gb SSD. Super thin and practically no bezel. Pretty much gives you everything you can ask out of a laptop. Feels VERY similar to a MacBook even down to the one finger open/close.

Obviously they have some bad press in the States. Pretty much just need to ask yourself whether you prefer the US or China spying on you. I've heard less than great things about their US support too, so I picked it up from Amazon with a 3 year square trade deal (ST is fantastic in my experience). I'd snag a copy of their drivers because apparently that site went down for like a week or something.

As for gaming, it does only have the integrated graphics. Civ 6 was probably the most graphically intense game and it runs without issues for whatever that's worth. I'm tempted to push the limits just to see, but it's not really why I got it.

I believe a new model just came out or is coming out soon. I don't remember but I wasn't impressed enough with what I saw to wait, but I needed it sooner so that played a factor.

Also saw there is a difference in models when it comes to the integrated graphics. Might be the US model or after a certain date, but they downgraded. I believe I have the downgraded model and still no issues. Might be nothing but worth taking a look into if youre seriously considering it and gaming is a priority.

So, been playing Diablo III on the Switch and loving it. Looks like a new season starts on Sunday. I've never really done season characters.... suffering from information overload as I try to understand progression. Anyone have a good guide/suggestions/ideas?

Looking good. Tough to tell in short clips, but the combat looks fine thus far. Not a fan of any of the voices - except maybe Biggs, strangely.

I am hyped regardless - always will be.

FF7 looks beautiful, but I hope they've learned the right lessons from the FF15 combat fiasco, and I hope the localization team takes another pass at Barrett's dialogue/voice.

I hope they let us have subs instead of just dubbed voices. They take some extensive liberties to avoid overdub

The inflection is bad too. Like Aerith has a pretty aggressive personality and in the original just tells cloud to take the flower, but they added the whole "it's for you, take it." Which is pretty annoying to me.That said I feel like VA work will give life to one of my least favorite FF protagonists. Game looks like Advent Children which makes me excited.

Looks great but for the love of god, can we finally just go back to the traditional turn-based combat system? They've taken one of the most defining and important core mechanics of the game and turned it into an absolute chore since FF12. The whole automated MMORPG battle system is the most boring and tedious thing ever implemented by the developers. Having to grind and slog your way through every enemy encounter takes so much joy out of the game.

Hopefully the update in June isn't "coming to PS5 in 2021"
