Random point - but I dont get the outrage over Uber/Lyft. Ride-sharing was designed to be supplemental income for normal folks. Some people decided to make it their full-time gig and it was short of what other full-time jobs would be. Idk, I dont get it.

Almost all players do it when attempting a 3pt shot, but not when they obviously didn't come close to being touched.
Yeah Curry flops like this quite frequently, sometimes flailing to near comical proportions. The ones I find most hilarious are when he juts his ass out and flails his arms wildly, almost spasmodically, in an attempt to draw a call on a defender closing out from the side or behind.
But you are right that a great number of players do similar things to elicit calls. It's similar to how certain player scream like a mad man whenever they go for a layup regardless of circumstances.
The problems I have with it all are:
1) Fans/Media only call out certain players for something so many players do.
2) Too many fans don't realize that poor officiating is the CAUSE not just the RESULT of such behavior. Players often have to accentuate/exaggerate contact in order to get legitimate calls. That breeds behavior that inevitably leads to situations where some guys fake contact to try to dupe the refs.
Brilliant post that echos a lot of fans here who have been watching this series objectively. Quoted for emphasis.

I don't think anyone is under the impression that Curry doesn't try and draw fouls on 3 point shots. Most of the Warrior fan complaints in that regard center around getting held off ball or, to a lesser extent, contact at the rim. The vitriol surrounding Harden (I'm assuming that is what we're getting at here) is as much about the over the top outrage of him not getting the calls than it is about the actual practice of trying to draw fouls.

The problem with that is, the warriors does the same against opposing team when they are trying to fight through screen. Green does this a lot, you can see him holding the other players arm allowing Curry/Klay free for an open three. You can't have it both ways.
I dont think you notice but it happen with Reddick or anyone else that is playing off the ball, but Curry fans think hes the only one getting the special treatment...

Fair point and it's the nature of the fan. I'd add that the same is probably true for those encroachment on landing space non calls from game 1. At the end of the day it's just two teams scratching and fighting for wins by any means necessary. Steph and Harden flopping, Draymond scratching eyes, Paul undercutting guys, both teams dropping elbows. Great stuff.

I think we will see more kd on harden on defense, especially in the fourth. When hardens legs get tired and resorts to taking step back 3's, there isn't a better defender for that than kd who has the length to bother the shot without exposing his body for cheaper "landing space" fouls. if that's the case then both splash bros need to step up big time in the fourth to share the scoring load.

So you want KD to do everything ?
He has to have a monster game to win the other two have collapsed mentally from having to play defense.
They are dead tired this happens when you have a weak bench.

Shameful. From a Bay Area sports columnist too. Shows much faith the dude has in the Warrior's own ability to win. Need ref assistance because...ratings.

it worked for a short spurt in the fourth. again, if steph and klay steps up early in the game, it preserves energy for everyone. it's when they are forced into needing kd iso to win game it become dangerous.

That's why talk shows that focus so much on LeBron and the Lakers or the Warriors are short-sighted and are missing the boat. Hype needs to be built up. Their refusal to give the Bucks and the Nuggets the attention that they deserve (we all know the reason why) is not only going to hurt the NBA's ratings but also their own ratings when they have to talk about them.

I’m ready for the Warriors to be first round exits next year.

Some really embarrassing from a Bay Area sports columnist. Some 3rd tier content right there.

I don't get how it became so popular when it pays so very little. After you factor in all the expenses, you're making below minimum wage. Why bother? It's good for a consumer, I get that but it pays you peanuts for the amount of hustle involved. The hate is because it displaced a ton of full time taxi jobs (they just can't compete for obvious reasons). The drivers who pretty much carry the entire business are getting paid scraps and the owners make out like bandits especially after the IPOs that went/will go live.

I agree - if it’s under minimum wage and you don’t get benefits, don’t waste your time. For the taxi argument, that’s what disrupters/innovators do. The Uber experience is infinitely better than hailing a cab and is usually cheaper and safer. Still not a reason to hate or boycott them.
They provided a significantly better consumer experience and actually created more jobs. If those jobs are not paying well enough, don’t drive Uber or Lyft and do something else or only do it as a form of supplemental income. Getting rich off the IPO is what happens when you come up with a unicorn, you can’t be upset with that either.
