Tatum and Brown
Don’t trade them!
Let Kyrie walk! He’s been non-existant. He’s been frustrating.
Tatum and Brown will lead this team and bring us Championship in the coming years!

Re: Tatum and Brown
That would surprise me a lot.
Both guys are very, very far from even being stars in this league. Brown has the heart but has a lot of flaws in his game..Tatum has less flaws but is soft and doesn't strike me as a guy who will work hard enough to maximize his potential..Frazier came in for about 3 minutes and hit more 3's than Tatum hit all series. It obviously takes time to put it all together but after 90 games this year I just don't see it..Tatum regressed a lot in my eyes. After what we saw last year, his best game this year was a 30pt game in a loss against Brooklyn. Damn.

Neither can be stars without better handle and play making. That is a skill. Harden and Kyrie aren't the fastest they have great handle and the ability to change speeds. Curry too. My biggest issue with Tatum is he wants every call but hates contact. Jaylen doesn't care about contact but dribbles like ass.

Re: Tatum and Brown
Brown has proven himself as a capable playoff performer. Personally I think Tatum got completely screwed out of what should have been a lot of focus on his personal development this year, instead we just expected him to be some 10 year veteran type who seemlessly finds his place in the rotation. I would trade either of them to improve the team but wouldn't be upset to see both of them here with larger roles next year.

Honestly I feel like they need a bit more room to spread there wings. Tatum seemed way less soft in the playoffs last year. I have had a gnawing feeling that Tatum felt stymied by Kyrie this season. I strangley wish we could have a redo of the season and see how this team would have progressed without Kyrie and taking Hayward along more slowly.
“There’s a sense of pride, there’s an edge you have to have to play here. I can only imagine the love, the reception, if you hung one of those banners up. It would be incredible — it’s going to be incredible. I know it.” —Jayson Tatum

If Kyrie stays, Brown and Rozier are gone and probably Tatum too. We will get older, better, but less potential of players.
If Kyrie walks? I think Brown and Tatum return and with Hayward are our leading scorers.

Ballhandling is not a skill that tends to improve greatly after 22. It's more often something you can either do or you can't do. And mediocre ability in this area at 6-7, 6-8 is going to depress your ability to ever become a real star. In 3 years I think Brown will have topped off the abilities that he can still improve in, FT shooting, overall shooting, offensive awareness, and defense. That would be good enough to maybe make him the 3rd best player on a championship team at best. He is by no means a team leader either. I like him but AD or no AD, I think you move him before committing to re-sign him at FA or S&T him.
Tatum still has loads of potential for sure but make no mistake, even with the congested offense and lots of guys wanting shots, the lack of killer instinct in his game was not something I was prepared for this season. He's got all the talent to get to a level Brown can't see but now I wonder just how badly he wants that.
and that's "MR. Irrelevant" to you!!

Re: Tatum and Brown
Brown is a full tier below Tatum as a prospect. Tatum just needs to add about 20 lbs of muscle and continue to develop his game naturally and he'll be a good #2. Hopefully someone can sit him down and demand he stop taking long twos. At least with Tatum there's promise. Brown lacks things that can't be taught. He doesn't have great size and his handle and smarts are well below average. I hope he gets traded this offseason

I dont know man, it really looks like tatum doesnt have the fire to be a superstar. Brown may never be an elite superstar, but he has the potential to be a deadly 2 way player/borderline allstar who has the potential to change games.
There is also something to be said for someone who says "i dont care, ill play for any team" vs. someone who is waving a flag at a Bruins game!
Brown Celtics for life!
Tatum - umm lets just get some value for em...

Re: Tatum and Brown
I love Brown - I think he has the heart to be a perennial all-star and playoff performer. He reminds me of Ron Artest for some reason.
Tatum could still be great.
Think of it this way: you play the long game with Brown and Tatum as potential stars to rebuild with, by the time they become prime- ready to contend Giannis will likely be out of the conference by then. I mean yeah, it will probably take 4 years but that's a hell of a lot better than pulling the trigger early on mercenary 1-year trade deals etc.

Y'all dissing on Tatum when he's been at most 3rd option in this team, but when he'll liven up and maximize his potential y'all be riding his jocks. Smh.
These two have the best potential we got moving forward so some of you might have to live with it.

This is probably true, but there are only like five players in the league who can lead anybody to the championship. Lebron (needed Wade and Kyrie), Giannis (hasn't yet, but looks like he could), Curry, Durant (although he couldn't without Curry), Kawhi (had Duncan and Pop) and maybe Harden (but he hasn't yet).
Not being one of those guys isnt a black mark against you, lower level stars like Paul George, Jimmy Butler, Gordon hayward are still necessary and I think George/Butler is more the Tatum/Brown ceiling than Durant/Kawhi. And its not like Kyrie or Davis has proven themselves that level either.

Oh I very much disagree here, I ball handling is something that can very much improve and often does, especially for wing players. And I don't think its really Browns handle that the problem, he actually made pretty good steps in that regard this year. he lowered his turnover rate and did a much better job keeping his dribble alive this year. With him its more his passing vision, he need to get better hitting guys off the dribble, if he can do that it allows him to operate a lot more as a secondary r primary ball handler which in turn will allow him to take better advantage of his slashing skills.

Both Tatum and Brown have a lot of room to grow but can we stop with this narrative that Kyrie stunted their growth? It's lame.
They are professionals now. Stop making excuses for them.

Re: Tatum and Brown
I don't see superstar potential in either of them. From my perspective most all-stars are not superstars. Can be a huge difference.
But I see the more interesting thing if they stay is how they develop their games to face a much much better Bucks team than they faced in 2018.
When I was watching the game in real time, I thought Hayward in his first drive where he had a turnover made a slow/bad move but he didn't really from a physical standpoint. If one honestly evaluated that drive, they may not have known Hayward was ever injured. He moved pretty fast. It was just another example of Celtics driving to the basket and running into multiple defenders waiting for them.
So, clearly to be major contributors in beating this version of the Bucks, Tatum/Brown will have to grow as 3 point shooters.
I suspect 95% of NBA players can't live off of driving against them in the half court after they set their defense and be major contributors on offense.
I point all of this out since I think if Kyrie was facing the 76ers and most other teams, he would look good to very good on offense at least. But Bucks defense/wall is better and if you can't deal with it, you lose value against them.
So, its fair to say Tatum for such a really good shooter needs to get more comfortable launching 3's.
