thats how i feel, you could get the bigger pay off with cam if he can live up to his potential. hunter/culver arent franchise saviors either, they had better seasons than reddish we cant discredit but what does either guy do that cam wont be able to do at the next level? shooting? cam can do it, defense? cam can do it? playmaking? cam probably has the best ground to be a playmaker than either guy.... though i do like culvers potential as a playmaker (im not sure how he will translate in that department in the NBA) dude gives me that michael carter williams feel which isnt really a bad thing i just feel his style of play is more impactful in college and will be brung down to earth in the NBA. but yeah their is nothing about hunter/culvers games we can zone in and say "No way can we pass up on this". They had solid seasons and cam didnt thats all i see.. talent wise cam can be just as good if not better than any of them.
As far as garland goes i like him but very hard to see the knicks going through another point guard. even if they were in position to draft morant i dont see them actually keeping that pick.
Hold on.....you get the Michael Carter Williams feel from J.Culver and you say that's really isn't a bad thing? If you get Michael Carter Williams feel from any player you're taking in the top 5 or even in the lottery then that's definitely a bad thing.
The thing with this draft is its hard to have any kind of big expectations from any of these players outside of zion and ill even throw in morant. i think the draft has decent depth role player wise but expecting any of these guys including lottery guys to end up some kind of star player is a reach.

Reddish shot 35% from the field overall. That's atrocious.
so? i can go down a list of players who have not shot the ball well in college and ended good shooters in their career. i would be more worried if he had some kind of broken form or a hitch in his shot.
if your picking 5th who is so much better than cam >? at worst cam will be a 6'8 wing that can hit shots and play defense and i believe thats his absolute worst outcome. if you want a safe pick go hunter, if you want someone with a little more upside go cam.
The excitement of this draft takes a curve after zion regardless

I think Hunter or even Culver are more NBA ready. Cam can be the better player in a few years.

His worst outcome is who he is right now. Bad shooter who plays defense and hands out turnovers like he works at a bakery. Someone who can't make shots when opponents focus more on Zion and RJ.

Re: College/Draft #6 - NCAA Finals + Draft Leadup W/ Knicks In The Top Seed!!!
According to a scout, via NBC Sports Washington's Chris Miller, Morant plays with Russell Westbrook-like athleticism and the ball-handling skills of former Wizard, Rod Strickland.
"If that's the case", said Hayes, "then he has to be considered for the No. 1 pick."
Westbrook has been regarded as a top athlete for his speed, power and overall skill set.
On being compared to Rod Strickland, Haynes noted that "without Strickland, you would not have Kyrie Irving." Strickland had a certain control over the ball that made him a great point guard. He ranks 12th on the NBA all-time assist leaders.
The All-American sophomore led the NCAA in assists last season with 10.0 assists per game. This made him the first player to average double-digit assists since 1994-95. Is that more impressive at a mid-major school like Murray State? Kind of.
If Morant is drafted anywhere in the top three, as expected, he will become the first sophomore to do so since 2013. Who holds the 2013 honor? None other than former Wizard, Otto Porter Jr. This will also make him the first player from a mid-major university since Derrick Rose in 2008.
Haynes admits that "there are a few teams going back and forth between him and Zion.

For my lifetime, Yao and LeBron were the most hyped, after them Zion is the closest comparison, but we are talking about a guy proclaimed "Chosen One" and "King James" in the fall of their high school senior year. Yao was going to revolutionize the game.

Easily the second best player of the draft. If the Knicks didn’t have DSJ, he would be my pick at #2

The Knicks should absolutely take the best player available. The only position were potentially set at is center, and even there Mitchell could always take a step backwards. I'm not 100% old on DSJ, but sen if I were, if Morant is the best player available, we take him.

Man I see more Lonzo Ball than anything with this kid. What really worries me is the compilation he faced and we're left to judge him by that.

I just don't think Ja's that much better than him
And if there is a gap between Ja and guys like RJ, Hunter, and Culver, it's not that big either
It'd be my same thinking with Knox if we didn't have DSJ and I didn't think Knox and another wing could coexist. They're not really that much better than him or Ja, so go with the guy that doesn't double up on a position that can't play together, if that makes sense.
I just really hate it when people say "just draft BPA" cause Ja really isn't a clear BPA at 2, and if you don't have a clear BPA you don't draft the guy that can't coexist with the other guy you already have
It's why I thought the Cardinals drafting Murray was stupid

Shaedon Sharpe/Cedric Coward
Kyle Filipowski/Collin Murray-Boyles

I agree with this premise whole heartedly but it’s a little different with the nfl, especially for qbs because they’re impact is insurmountable to other positions. if the cards really feel like murray is a franchise qb they were right for taking him. the upside is too high to pass up.

Yeah always take BPA even if its a point guard.
i still like Garland better than morant if were taking a point guard. (playstyle preference) , after zion he's actually my favorite within the whole draft. i see alot of people try to compare him to lilard but he got some dangelo russell in him too, hes like a hybrid of D-LO/Lilard
i also like his activity on defense better than morants
but i completely understand taking morant he has proven way more and still has star potential

in morant? i think he is a way better offense player than lonzo but lonzo is a better defender and less turnover prone
