Seems like the Cubs lined up all lefties for this series a few weeks ago, which is smart. Just tread water here, at least one game. The Cubs are going to start playing tougher teams soon.

Gio Gonzalez is doing great but how doesn't Dallas Keuchel look at Gio's success in Milwaukee after getting rocked in AAA and think to himself, " I could throw up a sub 2 ERA this year in Milwaukee and look like a Cy Young candidate."

Gio if he pitches his entire season with incentives comes out to about $4. Keuchel will still get many times what Gio is getting paid but Gio signed a contract with the Yankees that would have paid him about $10 this year. The reason he did not get that is because he was getting lit up in AAA. Even though the Yankees really needed pitching.

This ownership group still has quite a bit of a gap between where we are now and losing money. Even after a Keuchel signing for like $10-20 million a year they would be showing a tremendous profit.

Yeah Keuchel would be expensive but I think given our pitching depth, he would be worth it. Then again I am not the owner and it is not my money. They have gotten used to the $50 million profit each year and would probably like to keep it in tact.
