It's a damn shame because it was obvious there was a change in his posting style in the past few months, some of the debates he was having with people, I just chalked it up to RealGM fatigue. It's always a shame when we lose one of our own, but damn Mags and RealGM were synonymous.

Rest in peace Mags, I remember back in the old days when the Bulls and Knicks had a bunch of trades and a bit of a fan rivalry (we're talking Jamal Crawford and Eddy Curry era here). Mags was always one of the best posters to talk back and forth with at a time when Bulls and Knicks fans weren't real civil and didn't get along at all.

Mags was a genuinely nice guy, always voluntarily reached out offering advice on random things after reading some posts that even I didn't remember until he wrote. I never realised he was sick but I'm pleased to know that he was a lot more kind and generous in real life than he was online. Hard loss for a lot of acquaintances when someone so good passes away. Rest in peace.

I've been on these forums with Mags for nearly 15 years but had the fortune to get to know him much better over the past three or so. In addition to his mentorship and leadership on the mod team, he was usually the first and the loudest person giving congrats when major life events happened or condolences/encouragement when things were going astray. I knew of his health issues and he had missed a few things recently, which is why I suspected something was up and checked up on his Facebook page. There, I found that he had passed and that one of his last acts was donating his organs as he was losing the battle to kidney failure. That's who he was. He was a good friend and I am sorry he will not be around to see the Knicks return to prominence and, of course, generally.

I am so very sorry to hear of this. I didn't know much about him, inasmuch as our interactions were limited - but he was such a fixture here, and made such an extensive contribution. He will surely be missed by all who knew him.

Wow, this was so saddening to hear. Mags was a great person. His sense of humor was amazing. He was always so easygoing and chill, and it never felt like you were talking to a mod. Thanks for everything, Mags.

Very sad to hear this today. I hoped everything was ok with him after not hearing from him for longer than usual but obviously that was not the case. His passion and energy right to the end was amazing. Mags will definitely be missed across the site, board and BaF. As someone who started here back near the beginning, his contributions can not be overstated.

One of, if not the best moderator realgm has seen. Loved working with him on the GB and had discussions with him on multiple boards. We shared similar sensibilities and a dose of common sense. He will be missed tremendously.

Damn it. RIP my friend. Thanks for being so kind to me just starting out as a mod and being such a pesk in the BaT games (it made it fun)! As much as it annoyed me that you hated Jonathan Isaac, I'll let you slide for that one. :lol:

I hope you went without pain and now you can just laugh at all the trivial RealGM **** we do here on the daily. You were a great person and will be missed.
