Who is worth max
simple question, if You would be able to give huge/big contract this summer who it would be? Most will probably say Kemba, but from we all can see this play offs i dont know if Jimmy would not be better, he wont drop such stats but he is hell of a player, very efficient. He got tough character, but as Jazz 1 option and paid in right way i think he would be happy in SLC.
I heard that Harris is main guy for Lindsey, i guess not bad option but its interesting how much they will like to spend on him, i dont think he is worth max deal, but as 1 option he could drop on good% 24 pts easily, so maybe its not bad way to get guy despite price. Some other questions are do we leave Favs, and if not Kemba than should we bring Ricki back

There needs to be another answer for the poll, it should be any near max player willing to sign with Utah because guess what that guy is worth the max.
Ingles is cooked.

Both because both will demand multiple maxes and be positive assets. That's just how this league works.

Jimmy Buckets.
But realistically, they're probably all going to get the max from some team anyway and if we want to get any of them we'll have to offer the max too, whether they are worth it or not.

Re: Who is worth max
I don't want Butler anywhere near this team.
My wishlist order is:
1: Thompson
2: Walker
3: Harris
4: Russell (if Brooklyn picks up Irving and/or lets him go)
After those 4, and Favors, I don't have much opinion on other players.

I don't understand the question at all as each of the 2 guys will get a max, as will some other players.

ok so i guess i should build this question in different way, who you would like to get big money from Jazz Plus is Jazz are ready to pay some one, a good one, from this list above will come to Utah, as we have good young team which with addition like that will probably fight for some great results
PS Russel next to Mitchell ... im sure there will be games, even against top teams, when they will destroy easily opponents, but in other hand two such unefficient players playing together maybe often compleat nightmare

Re: Who is worth max
If a GM just consider to give Jimmy Buttler a max contract it should be fired immediately before it does such a dumb move like the Wizard's GM has done with John Wall, Houston GM's with Chris Paul (and truly a bunch of others as well).
Lets not give the Max to someone who has achieved nothing in his career, please.
If you can say whatever you want like "its not my money" but its the team you are rooting for, so, not a good move whatsoever.
Regards,

I don't see Durant or Leonard or Anthony Davis playing for the Jazz as their options and earnings' potentials are better elsewhere - they can sign their own ticket. Of the rest, including Walker and Irving, I'd probably only consider giving max deals to Klay Thompson or possibly Tobias Harris.
"But if you want to win, you have to teach a player how to win. That's why I don't believe in tanking, all that stuff. You don't learn how to win by losing on purpose to get a 19-year-old who you've never seen." -Rudy Gobert, 2017/18 Season

I agree that they believe thier earning potential would be better somewhere else. But longterm wise, to be the guy that leads the Utah Jazz to their first NBA title would be an immediate legend and would be valued in this community for millenia. Their names in this area would be synonymous with any top 50 player ever in the NBA. They would be able to get endorsements, not as immediately valuable as in other areas, but longer lifetime deals. They could be 80 years old and still be getting opportunities to endorse products.
Look at past Jazz legends that took us to new levels, Stockton, Malone, Eaton, Thurl Bailey, Sloan, can all still get endorsement opportunities if they really wanted it.

Paul achieve something and You also call this dumb move. I guess its good to give such money for some one who may be worth, despite what did he achieved, the best will be to get guy who is not completely washed out, so maybe Harris, although we would overpay, its not a bad option. Guy can play good bball on both 3/4 position, he is smart dude who is not cosign problems like Jimmy etc. i guess he would be very good fit, and from what we can hear Lindsey think the same

He's achieved a couple things .... he's a poor teammate and will put himself above the team at any point in time. He's also proven that he's not the kind of player (from a character standpoint) that the Jazz consider "Jazz-DNA". I'd bet a bucket of KFC & two Whoppers that the Jazz have no interest & won't even make a call to his agent (rightfully so).

We praised Gobert for doing the same things Butler did. Butler's crime is being vocal and calling out his teammates for not working hard. I can live with that, especially with how hard he plays.

I'm not sure how old you are, but I'm old enough to be pretty sure that Karl Malone wasn't "Jazz DNA", other than his hard work ethic.

"Jazz DNA" is an overused term. More and more it feels like any player the Jazz can't get doesn't have "Jazz DNA". It's like a guy trying to court a girl and she says that she isn't interested, so he says "you're not interested in me? I'm not interested in you!" after he was already rejected.

Plenty old to have watched the S2M years
I stand by my statement. I seriously doubt the Jazz would consider a team-wrecker like Butler to join the Jazz locke room. Much different than Karl occasionally spouting off in public, then retracting & making amends with Larry Miller. I also don't recall ever hearing about Karl being an a$$ to his teammates, regardless of Malone's legendary work ethic and desire to win.

I'm not sure whether he would come or not, but I for one would love to have Butler's desire on this team. He has the same fire as Gobert, but maybe a bit more vocal bc English is his native language. Gobert has an inner fire that is like an active volcano that hasn't erupted, but could at any time. It just emits caustic steam and heat. Butler's smoldering inner fire erupt erupts from time to time. I think that could be a terrific recipe for this team. Take a young and talented Spida, Add in the brooding "hold others accountable and real team leader" (Gobert) together with the "prideful and outspoken work it at 100% or get out player" (Butler) then infuse the "prickly sharpshooting irritator" (Ingles) and top it off with the "quietly supportive yet super competitive elder statesman who will slice you up and smile as you wonder what just happened" (Favors) and you have a team that will be hard to match up against.
I'd take that group with (Don't F*&% with me or my teammates) Crowder, (shut defensive specialist with an improving 3pt shot) O'Neal, (young, energetic, decent 3 pt %) Niang, and (I may look innocent, but you'll remember me after I dunk on you and then take you out) Allen. Not sure who else they could get that would be a terrific addition, but that team would be fun to watch.
Not sure where this was going, just had some fun.

You've got to wonder how Gobert would do in a larger, drama hungry market. Gobert has publicly called out his own teammates and aggressively yells at his teammates for doing something wrong all the time. We don't even bat an eye. If LeBron sits on the wrong spot on the bench it's a viral news story
Age and injury are real concerns for Jimmy. His personality would fit right in.
