If Andre Iguodala clashed with his teammates for example Kevin Durant, Steph, coaches etc, who do you think the warriors are going trade first
It is not how you run an effective business. Getting rid of people based on their comments, ups and downs etc. Good luck fielding an effective team doing that. You are going to be in the lottery constantly. As humans we don't always say or do the right things. There is nothing you can do about to, and by that I mean to be perfect. That is life.

This key phrase that Rozier said in the interview in my opinion was:
“The Celtics had to adjust to what Kyrie wanted to do”.
That’s all you need to know about the 2018-2019 Celtics

Agreed. I wrote it a million times, but last year Kyrie adjusted to our ie Brad's system and he looked crazy good. This year, he was his own man and failed miserably and dragged the team down with him.
Good assessment:

What a shame. Rozier is so pissed off about the situation, I don't think he wants to stick around even if Kyrie does leave. Ainge tried to have his cake and eat it too, and it might backfire in the very worst way.
Too bad for Rozier that Ainge can match whatever the hell he wants to match whenever he wants to match. Shame we don't suck hard enough so we can match and bench him for 3 years playing behind Wannamaker.

One piece of good news, not sure it’s been posted, is Bulpett reporting Horford would opt out and re-up for less money annually if we gave him two more years.. 3/60, 3/54, 3/45, 3/36?

I think he probably felt some rivalry with Brown and Tatum, which isn’t an ideal situation..

The only rivalry is in his head. If you're playing to win, you should do whatever it takes to win. If you're playing for yourself, a situation ala Melo in NYK would be nice.
Dude's 27 years old and extremely immature. You'd think that having a kid and having to manage a huge fortune would turn him into a man, but he definitely isn't. He's an insecure, little dweeb, and a "me first" guy, who loves talking about himself and doesn't have the ability to take responsibility for his own actions. This was the poorest Celtics' star playoff performance I've watched in 15 years as a fan. Pathetic on so many levels and the **** he said after every bad game was so **** hilarious, imagine if Tatum and Brown were shooting 6-7 of 22-23(24) for 3-4 games straight. Dude would've thrown a serious temper tantrum in the media- talking about the little things, the team, working and how you need to not be "selfish".

Your numbers went the wrong way from your lowball start. He gets $30M by opting in. Every team in the league would give him 2/$30M next summer (if they had space). Think more like 3/75, 3/80. And he'd be worth it. Maybe you get 3/70, but I doubt it.

Less money than $30 million per year. Horford would be giving up $30 million. Horford could easily get $20 million per year. The deal would be something like 3 years and $70-75 million.

Yeah, I am thinking 3 years $60 million.

Horford would be giving up $30 million. He can get more than $15 million from just about everyone on the open market. I think $60 million is too low.

Re: Celtics General Offseason Thread, 2019
The report is that he would take less money annually in exchange for a deal covering 2019-20 and the two seasons following.. he gets 30.1 million if he opts in to the last year.. 27 or 25 annually doesn’t seem like much of a discount -
This seems to be coming from his camp, so he may have some concern about longevity and security..
24/20/16 would be ideal from our perspective..
Horford is a smart guy - he could gamble someone offers him 25-30 million next summer, but he knows he’ll also be facing the risk of injury or decline over the next year, and he won’t be a top tier free agent next summer at age 34.. he turns 33 on June 3rd of this year, a month before free agency starts..

I bet Horford comes back. That is unless he thinks that Danny won’t be able to fix the issues that plagued them this season. He seems like a guy who wants to win, and win in Boston.

I think 3/60 is fair, but it’s possible his camp comes in a little lower, like 3/54.. I don’t think we try to squeeze him, seems to be plenty of mutual goodwill and professionalism - but I don’t think there’s anything to do above 3/60..
A Thunder fan writer, btw, suggested Horford for Steven Adams, & that’s actually a solid trade if we don’t get Davis - or it could be Schroeder/Roberson, to flip..

Re: Celtics General Offseason Thread, 2019
Assuming he gets 3 years/60 million which I believe is a modest discount from what he could get in a 3 year deal on the open market, I would like the deal probably structured.
30 million next year... no change.
and then a declining salaries the next 2 seasons so when Hayward is off the books, the Celtics may have the cap room to sign max FA.
If Celtics acquire AD, that may change the equation based upon luxury tax concerns.
I suspect Horford likes Boston/likes Stevens and like a lot of people doesn't want to move unless it makes a lot of sense.
A fair deal for Horford is somewhat dependent upon the conditions of his knees which is just information that is difficult to determine. They certainly have a lot of miles on them and give him problems at time but whether or not they are an issue relatively easy to manage or an issue that will become much larger in the future, I am certainly not even qualified to speculate. His knee issues are different than some player getting a known issue like an ACL.

Here’s the thing with with Horford. Teams who will want him wont have the money. Teams that will have money will either be shooting for bigger fish or deciding to roll over the cap space / tank / Horford won’t want to play there. That said MLE money is close to 10 million already and the cap is only going up. 3/69 because who doesn’t like 69

If he signs a favorable deal with Celtics, he may be traded later to Knicks to play with his buddy KD. RJ Barrett and DJ Smith would be a decent haul assuming both teams strike out on AD and Celtics commit to youth movement.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

I like that, 3/60. Especially Declining.
