If Bol is gone (No way Garland is there), I'm trading down if I can.

I guess this just bolsters the need for a great GM. The draft isn’t going to save us. Being smart and strategic is.
Please let our next GM be those things.

Didnt think we'd move up in 2013 but we somehow did. I get the feeling we will move up again... but not necessarily land #1.
I thought Memphis for most of the second half of the year would be one to land Zion, today for some reason I get the vibe New Orleans will land the pick.
I will honestly be surprised if a team in the 6-9 range doesn't end up with Zion.

It will be tough to trade down now with the ninth pick. Troy Weaver or Tim Connelly come on down assuming Ted will shell out the money for Connelly. I want a competent guy to make that pick or trade it.

I think there's a legit chance Bol is there. If not, perhaps Jaxon Hayes. Not that I want a center, but those 2 are big-time talents. And Doumbouya could be a legit wild-card win for us. Problem is, if they're all gone, we could be in a no-win situation if we don't trade down. As interesting as Coby White might be, I really don't want to see him is our pick. And if it's Reddish, we're dead - it's as simple as that - ef'd.
We're at those 3 imo - Bol, Hayes, and Doumbouya. I think one of those will be there, but it's no guarantee. and even if one is, it's no guarantee that don't pick a Reddish. This is still a winnable situaton, but there's potential for complete disaster.

NBA's worst nightmare. Knicks get Barrett (maybe) and Memphis and New Orleans get the stars of the draft. Lakers, Cleveland and Chicago out of the top 2. They needed a big market team to get Zion or Morant.

That's a bunch of bullsh-t. Stern is no longer commish. Knicks and Chicago didn't get in two top 2. Don't you think they wanted one of the big market teams to get Zion? Glad both guys are out of the East.

No way Connelly comes here for anything less than $4 million a year. So welcome Troy Weaver or Danny Ferry.

Langford is intriguing. If the shooting numbers were depressed by his tendon injury, he could be undervalued. Also gotta love the toughness of playing with that injury.

Bol, Herro, Bitadze, Clarke are the 4 I'm looking at.
After that its Hayes, Washington, Hunter. I could live with those choices.
Doumbouya, White, Alexander-Walker, Culver, Fernando, Kabengele, Williams are in my next tier. I would be disappointed but it's not a disaster.
The disasters are as you mentioned Reddish followed by Little and Porter Jr.

On a slightly positive note, picking the best player available at #9 should be a little clearer than picking at #6.

I'm ok with Clarke at 9 if they keep the pick. I wasn't sure about him at 6. Hunter should be gone. I think Bol is boom or bust. With our injury history, I'm passing unless he put on 25 pounds and looks incredible in workouts. Doumbouya really intrigues me at 9 and then you are basically in that same situation next season, looking for a top 5 pick because he's going to need time to adjust.

Porter Jr's been labelled a problem child for off the court issues - he might not even go in the 1st round. Thing about Little - he's a terrific explosive athlete. I don't like him as a lottery pick, but I think he'll make it in the NBA. Herro's gonna be good, but is he a player you really consider in the top 10? Nah. But he is a guy you target in a trade down - which might be the best option - Boston? I think a trade down with Boston might be the way to go.
Somehow I forgot about Clarke. I hope the Wiz consider him. I'd still prefer Bol, but Clarke would be such a good fit - assuming the Wiz keep Bryant - which they NEED to do, imo.

Re: Wizards 2019 Draft thread. (Tank for Zion, or OTHER NAME HERE)
ESPN and Givovny have us taking
9. Washington Wizards
Sekou Doumbouya
Limoges
Age: 18.2
F
Height: 6-foot-9 | Weight: 210
Doumbouya rebounded from a slow start and has been very productive in Pro A France since returning from a hand injury. He has outstanding physical tools for a modern-day NBA forward, particularly defensively, where he shows significant potential, and he has a projectable skill level offensively.
The Wizards likely are about to begin a long rebuilding process and can afford to be patient with Doumbouya while giving him significant offensive reps that should expedite his development.

I could see Atlanta taking Bol. They have 8 and 10. He fits their system. Why not shoot for the home run? I doubt he slips to 9.
