Am I the only person who doesn't think Zion is going to be some unstoppable force in the NBA?

I know he's a freakish, LeBron level athlete with an extremely high motor.
I know he's must see TV and an exciting player who will sell tickets and put on a show in the open floor.
id love to have him on my team, but isn't he basically Blake Griffin on steroids (literally) coming into the league?

I see NO rather getting #3 from NYK so they can get RJ Barrett, Zion's college teammate, as opposed to getting #4 from the Lakers. I think it's pretty clear Zion isn't thrilled about NO so it would help that situation for them to get RJ also.

Salary matching with either NYK or LA is difficult though.

A team that I would think would love Simmons would be the Grizz. Jaren Jackson isn’t a hypothetical three point shooter. Not sure what they could give besides the pick though.

Again not sure about salary matching, but this makes Kyrie + KD to NY Knicks a strong possibility, as they can package #3 w/the future Mavs picks as the key asset to also get Anthony Davis.

PG Irving | Smith
SG ROOMX |
SF Durant
PF Davis | Ellenson
CE Robinson

* I assume Ntilikina, Knox, and Dotson along with already signed #3 pick (RJ Barrett) need to go in the trade for salary matching.

Obviously the bench still needs work, but the big 3 is enough to be a contender right away.

No one wants to play for the Knicks, no one ever wants to. Most overhyped narrative in sports. Durant and Kyrie aren’t going there, it has no chance of happening, I guarantee it.

I bet Durant stays in Golden State and Kyrie goes out west. I think the Knicks would be better off taking the BPA (Barrett or Morant) and building a solid young team with cap space. They'll eventually land a top notch free agent, I just don't think it'll be this summer.

Both teams have oodles of space

They don't have enough to sign both KD and Kyrie to their max amounts with AD on the roster. They would have but someone thought it was a good idea to sign and then waive and stretch Joakim Noah.

I'd rank the AD sweepstakes as:

1) New York Knicks. They just need to figure out how to match AD's salary after signing Kyrie + KD. Looks like it would take Barrett + Frank + DSJ + Knox. They can even add one or two of the Mavs picks. That's a TON for AD, but if you have Kyrie + KD then you have to do it.

2) Los Angeles Lakers. They're in a very strong position with the #4 pick now. If no one plans on signing there, they can just absorb AD's salary.

3) Boston Celtics. Salaries easily match, but they have the least desirable picks. It's unknown if they remain off AD's list, especially with Kyrie likely leaving.

4) Los Angeles Clippers. I wouldn't count them out with Jerry West at the helm. They got some picks from us and could creatively put a package together.

Frank Ntilikina sucks and Dennis Smith can't play with other scorers.

Pelicans better demand Mitchell Robinson and Allonzo Trier in addition to #4 and Knox.

Don't let the Knicks pawn off their trash (Frank) and their free lance chucker (Dennis) and pretend they're good pieces.

The only problem i have with the Ben for AD idea is it will leave us with no defender for guys like Kawhi or KD. I dont trust Tobi and Butler on defense against elite SFs

I’m rooting for Zion, when everyone thought he should sit out after that knee injury, he came to the team and showed some balls. The kid loves playing basketball and if he has a work ethic like Giannis, he’ll be dominating the NBA in 3 years.

It's either that (Barrett + DSJ + Frank + Knox + Mavs 1st) or the Lakers trash (Culver/Hunter/Garland + Lonzo + Ingram + Kuzma + future 1st).

Not sure the Lakers offer is better, especially with Ingram looking like he has a clotting disorder.

Back to us. If we can, I'd like to sign Danny Green for the full midlevel. I assume he may come available if/when Kawhi walks.

He's a perfect replacement for Redick and allows him to slide to a bench role for his final years.

Get okafor back so we have actually post scoring, Joel, Amir and Monroe are trash down low lmao, the team is in a bad way, we were supposed to be a post up kickout team and now we just chuck 3s and pray for guards lmao...this wasn’t sams vision...Simmons needs to go, embiid needs to work way harder, bench is trash, we didn’t use jimmy right at all...getting jah back is one step, but there’s a lot to fix..shoulda fired brown...once again his stupid handoff ball is easier to predict than a HS offense

That statement was immediately followed by Elton Brand saying something to the effect of "yes, but we will continue to be financially responsible."

So let's not go giving them credit for anything yet.
