Not a bust but not a Super Star either. Decent 3rd banana on a good team but it will take him time. He plays too wild, no pace and his jumper needs to improve dramatically. But he should have a nice career. It just won't be as good as what you should get with the 3rd pick normally but it's a weak class.
Is he Kevin knox 2.0 or better?

Probably not because Woj will have already broken the news that it’s going to New Orleans by then

60% chance of the 4 or 5 pick
This is a win for the Knicks, especially in a 3-player draft. Especially with the Dallas pick conveying, espcially with Boston getting ****, and especially because he didn't go to the Lakers or Bulls.
Imagine if the Lakers got 3 and we got 4. We'd be having arguments about Jared Culver and Rui f*cking Huchimara.
On top of it, I think this makes it MORE LIKELY that New Orleans trades AD to the Knicks.
Last post of the night for me as I'm done.
I just don't get trading 6/7 assets (not to mention cap room) for a player who will be an unrestricted FA in 12 months time and won't resign with his team. I really hope it'll be worth it. But I suspect we'll be back here again in 5 years clamoring to trade whatever we have to "win now".
I had thought that the Knicks learned from their previous experience. So for me that was the upside of the Porzingis trade. The Knicks were finally ideally positioned to do a proper rebuild, rather than trying once again what hasn't worked before AGAIN!
Silly me!

Anyone who is upset with the pick we got caught up in the Zion hype instead of doing the math...
We had a 60 PERCENT CHANCE of going 4th or 5th!!! We had a 14% chance of getting Zion...
Think about that

I'm not advocating it, but I think it's the most realistic course of action considering MSG's corporate ownership and Jim Dolan's consistent history of decision making. I fully expect the Knicks to go hard at Durant, Kyrie, and empty the ENTIRE cupboard (sorry Mitch) to get AD.
But for fun, let's say the Knicks strike out on Durant and Kawhi. Then what?
The re-building dream would be a core of RJ, Knox, D. Smith, and Mitch plus a full slate of future picks including another very high lotto pick next season. Personally, I love that course of action, but it's just so improbable and unrealistic considering #CharlieWard

We're Knicks fans. We were ready for the 5th pick and a Cam Reddish debate all summer long, Dallas Mavericks jumping us to get the 1st pick, type of disaster.
The process was good. I have no complaints.

Gimme KD and Kawhi and then gimme Hunter with the #3. Then start those three with Mitch and Frank and put out one of the best defenses of all time.

The reality is KD & KI, and AD aren't winning a championship in NY next year. Not with those 3 D. Jordan and whatever warm bodies the Knicks find on the street (they'll have no money).
Year 2 was always going to be the move year in any overhaul of the Knicks. Next years draft is loaded. Play the kids and whatever FA's you sign, and hit that draft and FA hard. A year is a long time in a fluid league. The Knicks have a good hand to play so long as they play the hand out and not move their entire pile to the middle of the table after they've seen after 1 card.
But I'm with you. Dolan's past is prologue.

One thing if we take RJ is that i dont think Fiz is a good coach for him. I think RJ needs a more disciplined coach who can help him focus on picking his spots, taking good shots and playing within himself. Fiz let's his players play too freely and undisciplined at times

Lol you’re worried about Fiz at this moment when we don’t even know if they’re even keeping the pick..

Just based on last season is enough to be worried about Fiz no matter what we do. Hopefully he was tanking on purpose.

Ah yes, people want a championship NOW but do we really even know if the HC is championship level. This goes back to what I've been saying. Even with Zion NY needs to take a year to let transition things settle before reacting with long term decisions. Is Fiz the guy to build the culture. If now them whom?
What if the guy you like to replace Fizdale with wants a guy like RJ Barrett on his roster. Oops, you traded him.
What's the rush? Its been 40 years. 1 or 2 more seasons won't matter

Take your time. Do it once and do it RIGHT.

Brad Stevens was the best coach in the NBA last year, now he can’t manage locker rooms. Worrying about the coach at this current state of the team is nonsensical. The team needs to accumulate talent as it severely lacks any. If competent NBA talent wants him gone then he will be gone.
