New Orleans could get so much for AD, but the other team has something to give. Honestly, the Suns ought to give NO a call. AD has a very good relationship with Monty. He might, just might, be willing to resign. A package that includes multiple future firsts from the Suns might be interesting to them.

As for LeBron - I don't think he has much value to many teams in the league because of his age. Maybe Philly still. But if he is traded, I think its to the Rockets for Capela and Gordon. The Rockets are old and capped out now - so adding LeBron fits with Harden, Paul and Tucker.
I still think New Orleans should really push for Brown and Tatum if they can. Those 2 with Zion would be such an incredible core.
If Boston doesn't get a commitment from AD, and they'd still do your trade, I think they should pull the trigger.
good point about Brown - he would be excellent with Zion, Jrue, Tatum.
From a dollars component - looks like Bayne with filler or Smart would need to be added to Brown and Tatum.

I think the Suns should stay away from Anthony Davis. For that reason, if he walks, you are done for years. 10 years will turn into 20 years.
I think that would be a big swing because of what it would tkae to get and no certainty he stays. If they want to call Durant on June 30th/July 1st - fine. But AD - would be a big player to get but if he doesn't stay...

We lost our chance at Davis when we dropped to 6. At 2 or 3 we had an interesting package

Keep in mind, 6 isn't getting us Holiday and the pick doesn't hold much value.
IDGAF about the pick (but IMO it still has more value than you think).
I **** hate the idea of trading for an aging, always injured, 0-time all star, who's owed $70m over the next 2 season, who just asked for a trade because he doesn't want to play on a rebuilding team. Mike Conley is just a guy, he has no future on this team beyond his current contract and he can turn into a zombie any minute. We would be better off just dumping JJ's salary and throwing a 2yr/$30-35M offer at Beverley on July 1st. That's still almost $40m less than Conley's contract and you won't see much difference when it comes to on- and off the court impact.
Hell, I would rather trade the #6 pick for Dinwiddie than Conley and I don't even like Dinwiddie that much. He's $40m+ cheaper, 6 years younger and I'm sure we could get some extra assets (#17?) from the Nets and/or create more cap space, if we include Tyler Johnson in the trade. We could also explore trading TJ Warren+ (who's criminally underrated by the Suns fans) for Dinwiddie. It's quite surprising how similar they both are.
Contracts:
Warren - $10,810,000 / $11,750,000 / $12,690,000
Dinwiddie - $10,605,084 / $11,453,491 / $12,301,898 (PO)
Age:
Warren - 26 (TJ is 5 months younger)
Dinwiddie - 26
2018-19 stats:
Warren - 18.0 pts, 4.0 reb, 1.5 ast, .580 TS%, 16.3 PER
Dinwiddie - 16.8 pts, 2.4 reb, 4.6 ast, .580 TS%, 16.3 PER

They could do it but it would absolutely take Ayton as a piece of that trade. I don't think theres any realistic chance he stays but say the suns were in the Eastern conference then maybe it's a gamble you take because getting AD would make you a virtual playoff lock. Out in the god damn nightmare west it would be far from a sure thing. The pels couldn't make it with him and the Lakers just missed the playoffs with LeBron. Nothing is assured out west.Crives wrote:BobbieL wrote:WeekapaugGroove wrote:And when he walks next summer they might as well shut the doors and disolve the franchise.

Some form of a pick swap and a forward going out to the nets for dinwiddie is absolutely something that could happen this summer. Actually one of the more realistic potential deals.darmani wrote:DarkHawk wrote:darmani wrote:Every time I see someone suggesting to trade #6 pick (and more) for Mike **** Conley, I want to punch a puppy. Say we draft Clarke, what’s your plan to get a pg?

If the suns do like Clarke one potential option would be to call the bulls and see if they would do Jackson and 7 for Dunn and 8. Bluff the bulls into jumping you so they can draft a PG and still get the guy you want at 8.
I'm not high on Dunn but I hate Jackson so I guess it's a fine gamble.

Actually a very good trade idea of Warren for Dinwiddie. Might even add the Bucks pick to make it work. Granted, to the post above about underrated - I like the idea of keeping Warren. I see him as an optimum Sixth Man candidate. Guy can score the ball
But the Suns will probably need to move Warren, Jackson and the 6th pick - two of those - -to get where they want.

Yeah of course if Davis agreed to extend you make the trade, hell they can have booker in that scenario. But there's just no logical explanation why Davis would agree to extend, the best they could hope for would him agreeing to not throw a hissy fit and giving it a chance but he's still going to explore his options next summer.jcsunsfan wrote:WeekapaugGroove wrote:And when he walks next summer they might as well shut the doors and disolve the franchise.jcsunsfan wrote:New Orleans could get so much for AD, but the other team has something to give. I like the idea of dealing Josh for Bjelica and future 2nd.
Then s&t Warren/TJ for Kemba
draft Clarke
Kemba/Melton/Eli
Booker/
Oubre/ Bridges
Bjelcia/Clarke
Ayton/
This would put the salary at 102,4 given that Kemba get 35m and Clarke 5m.
Then sign FA to fill in the roster.

To my point earlier. Like half the top 10 is looking to trade their pick this year.

If serious, the Pels say no.
Davis likely still wants out (it's reported he wants to be in a big market). Having an aged LeBron doesn't do them any good short of solid merch sales.
They are also not title contenders with AD/LeBron (just like LA wouldn't be with the same pairing)
Yeah I don't disagree. Although I think the Pels would be really good with Jrue still. They'd arguably be better than the Rockets if AD is healthy.
Say AD still wants to get traded - would Smart, Tatum, Aaron Bayne and draft picks make sense to put on the Pelicans with Jrue and Zion?
As for LeBron - I don't think he has much value to many teams in the league because of his age. Maybe Philly still. But if he is traded, I think its to the Rockets for Capela and Gordon. The Rockets are old and capped out now - so adding LeBron fits with Harden, Paul and Tucker.
I think that with all the heat Danny Ainge is catching for his teams obvious chemistry problems and him holding onto assets like he's Gollum from Lord of the Rings that he has got to be tempted to try and trade for AD. Kyrie or no Kyrie. Your suggested trade would work out for value, but with NYC and LA looming I wonder if NOLA would insist on Brown too?
NYC won't make a trade till they know KD is for sure coming you'd have to figure. The Lakers have good package too since they lucked into the 4th pick but Ingrams blood clot would have to worry the Pels you'd figure right? If im NOLA I think I'd rather have Lonzo if that's an option.

Unless they totally won't deal with LA, if they could get Garland, he'd be the perfect PG next to Jrue and with Zion....along with Ingram, Kuzma, maybe Hart and picks or something. Don't know much about Ingram's injury.
But yeah, if they can get Brown and Tatum, a Jrue/Brown/Tatum/Zion core would be pretty nice for them too..

The Knicks have French Frank, Mudiay and Smith. We can maybe work out a deal with them for 1 of those guys? If they're trying to get AD we can assist with that and grab one of their PGs. Plus it gets AD out of the west.

Why? All these guys are awful. Ntilikina and Mudiay shouldn't be in the NBA. DSJ is a shot-happy knucklehead with a big ego.

I would prefer to start Melton over the NYK pgs
