**** the rest. its a damn shame we're gonna have to listen to svg and mark jackson in the finals. mark can be fun to listen to when he's actually into the game, but most of the time SVG will be talking about the most random sh*t and he'll distract Mark.

SVG, do you mean JVG?

Well, random **** are entertaining though, and JVG is one of the best when it comes to random ****. Imagine Brent "zero random ****" Barry call the finals.

Shout out to Sarah Kustok.

Excellent for the Nets. Both as a sideline reporter and as an analyst.

PockyCandy wrote:One day, perhaps RealGM will be able to have a conversation about a female commentator/reporter without mentioning their looks. Does how a person look really affect their ability to commentate a game? It's not like anybody talks at length about the attractiveness of Mike Breen.

And I like Doris Burke. Her voice can be monotone at times (whoever compared her to Brent Barry was spot on), but at least she adds to the broadcast, and talks about what's happening on the floor.

It would help if sideline reports weren't very often and very clearing hired for their looks. Shockingly that IS their best way to move up and get more air time. And look it's TV, either you're an ex player, coach, or odds are you were hired in part for your appearance. The end result is when you have a woman on these shows who's experienced, qualified, and good at their job it's almost jarring as most women involved tend to be these sideline reports who without a doubt were hired as much for their "eye candy" looks as their talent.

Fans will discuss these topics less (I hope) if they resolve their hiring methods. Until then...

Don’t get the Hubie Brown hate. I mean I get he’s aged, but geez.

I miss the old Hubie Brown-Mike Tirico combinations.

Hubie Brown? The guy who openly roots for teams/players he likes and discredits the ones he doesnt in his live broadcasts?

Hubie is the NBA version of Joe Buck who is so one sided in their commentary you would think you are watching that teams local broadcast.

Burke is good. I like her commentary. I think she's up with Hubie as the best.

Breen, Van Gundy and Jackson are the absolute worst. I don't understand what anyone likes about them

Nope, not what's happening at all when he calls a game. He calls it like a coach, so whichever team is down or is an underdog he "roots" for them to comeback. He just wants to see a close game.

JVG is good, better than most. But putting Jackson in the booth just pulls that entire crew down to the bottom. Jackson is the worst imo. And it’s downright comical that they continue to put him on Warrior games.

Didnt get that feeling at all watching the Raptos/Cavs playoff series where he would cheer everything the Raptors did with 'There you go!" and whenever the Cavs did anything it was 'Well thats too bad, now what the Raptors have to do here is....."

Yes. Sarah is fantastic and slowly she's getting some national scene exposure thanks to the Nets' relationship w/ Fox Sports. Kind of how like Michelle Beadle was for us back in the mid 00s, I don't expect Sarah to stay around for long. She's a solid color analyst and also really good at sideline work as well.

I don't get the "she's hot" comments.

She's got a mannish, butch vibe. Not feminine.

Rachel Nichols is leaps and bounds hotter and even she is wack.

She definitely belongs.

I like to have her in the mix. Being a female enables her to influence the vibe a bit in a positive way. I think the other commentaters step up their game a little....just because of the female energy present.

Also, she's the one you want to send down to get Popovich's comments. He's not likely to behave badly when she's asking the questions.

Lastly, we are the same age. She's lovely.

I don't like her. Seems to hate the Sixers for some reason, always brings up something negative. Why do you need to talk about Eagles fans throwing snowballs at santa 40-50 years ago during a Sixers game?
