My guess is that the development plan is wrong. Anybody can see that his form minimizes every margin of error, but somehow the Sixers either think that it's not a problem, or they have different reasons for not changing it (medical issues for example).

I do think he works on it and that's what makes it even worse. This is the result of his hard work.

It is terrifying. Unless they drastically change their approach regarding his shot development, I have no confidence. It has been my standpoint ever since I saw multiple videos of him training out with John Townsend (shooting coach, employed by BC), now 2.5 years ago IIRC.

It could be and probably is true that Simmons is a hard worker, that doesn't mean he's working as hard as he should be on his jumper. Normally when someone is working extremely hard on a skill they do try it out in games because they're used to doing it. You can also blame Brett Brown for empowering Simmons as a PG without making shooting open outside shots a must to play that position. Even if Simmons were bad at shooting it would force him to work harder on that skill to not look as bad(or just be more effective) in games.

He’s obviously not taking it seriously, hiring his incompetent brother yet again so that he can goof off to parties whenever he wants.

In regards to his teammates praising his work ethics, it’s standard... what were they suppose to say? He’s a lazy bum who just chase behind women’s bottoms?

The moment he announced he’s hiring his brother again, along with that douchey attitude in the exit interview, I know he’s done.
Andrew Wiggins 2.0.... oh at least Wiggins shoots, i guess he’s Wiggins with the Fultz TOS Bs syndrome. Congrats Philly fans

The reporter asked Ben at his exit interview If he'll be working with his brother again and Ben said "yes" but I just think he didn't want to throw his brother under the bus tbh. Dennis Scott said he spoke to Ben's brother and everything is agreed about working on Ben's shot so we'll see. Word is he'll be with Australia from August until the Sixers training camp so he'll have around three months to work on the shot before he joins Australia? And then maybe he can test his shot during the games? I hope so. One way or another something has to change. If he sticks to shooting left handed then his mechanics have to change dramatically. If he switches to his dominant hand then the form, spring and release are already there, just needs to keep his left hand on the ball a little longer on release and then get tons of reps In.

Doesn’t help that Brett endorse Ben working with his brother.

I really hope he's doing more than just shooting around with his brother this summer.

There has to be a plan in place that is not being mentioned. Because Brett's job is tied, in large part, to Ben's shooting. Brett has to know this.
You want it to be one way....but it's the other way. (Marlo)

On his own page, Ben made the announcement that he will be a Boomer for upcoming events. From his mouth. Not sure how that will affect training.

I'm hoping that he wont be his excuse if he comes back again with no jump shot. Developing a jump shot is more important than playing for the Boomers. He can play for them later

Ben for the #2 pick, we get a PG who can shoot and cover small guards. Who says no? Sixers or Grizzlies. I think good trade for both

I've been told here by some that they wouldn't trade Zion for Simmons straight up, y'all telling me to not trade Simmons for a generational talent but do it for a not as good (but still great) prospect?

The Sixers wouldn't even consider it. Ben has been very successful in the NBA thus far and was a better prospect than Morant is coming out of school. On top of that, the team is trying to re-sign Butler and Harris so that they can win now, they're not gonna want to wait on a rookie PG to develop.

If we do trade Ben (I don't think they will) it'll be for a win-now player. I don't think any coaches or FO have the patience to develop another PG right now.

They shipped Fultz out when they realized he wasn't close to being ready (among other things).
2025-2026 Philadelphia 76ers:

Maxey/McCain/Lowry
Edgecombe/Grimes/Gordon
George/Oubre/Edwards
Watford/Barlow/Walker
Embiid/Drummond/Bona/Broome

Haven’t we done enough to “win now”?
Obviously too soon, and I blame EB with wasting all the assets.
Embiid having a short window is no excuse, all EB wanted was to show his ability as the new GM but he shat the bed and ruined the franchise for years to come.

Get a grip man. We survived wasting two No. 3 picks, a No. 6 pick, and a No. 14 pick but Landry Shamet and a 1st three years from now is what insurmountable.

We could’ve been great, a contender if we stuck to the process, develop the players more etc, but some new big shot (EB) came on board and used up all the chips.... for a second round exit and having both or one of Jimmy and Tobias to walk afterwards....

I am trying to relax but it’s just so painful to watch...

Edit: apologies for being off topic....
Simmons wise... I really much prefer that we keep him.... no more win now is my wish..

Why don't you wait for that to happen before losing your mind.
