Why do we need to waive and stretch Lance? His deal is not guaranteed.

$1m of his salary is guaranteed. This is what we need to stretch (so it becomes 333,333 a year over three years).

We do it because it allows us more flexibility/to keep another player on the books: can keep Trier or the third one of Dotson+Jenkins+Ellenson.

Yeah I think it's the suns too. If a team that high in the lottery is giving him a promise we need to do our due diligence. No team has even worked him out and he may have a promise already thats insane considering he only played 5 games in college. This kid could be special.

I hope the Knicks don't fall into groupthink and if garland is really the best player don't worry about what all the armchair gm mock draft makers say and just grab him at #3. People thought bogut and Marvin Williams were better than cp3, if garland is a stud then just draft him.

If we skip on morant or barret with the top 3 pick in a supposedly 3 man draft that means we let one of them fall to the lakers and that means the lakers trade package value for Anthony Davis increases and ours decreases.

huh? we don’t know how much the pels value barrett though. we wouldn’t pass on barrett knowing the pels would want him in a trade but I don’t know why people assume the pels would even want to reunite rj and zion. they’re really not a good fit together but the narrative is nice. they could shop davis for better fitting pieces.

now I’ll have to rely on team workout leaks. sigh

I tried to tell people he wouldn’t appear at the combine and I wouldn’t doubt him limiting workouts as well.

Agreed. And if the FO is sure that KD+KI are coming and they've decided to try to trade for Davis then they should be asking the Pels who they would like at #3.

Based on what? The Duke hype clouds people man. Barrett cant shoot. The Knicks have been built around players who shoot too much and cant shoot (Hardaway, Melo, Knox etc etc etc). These guys are impossbile to win with if they're commanding the lions share of the shots.

Dude just say you dont like Barretts game thats understandable but to say Hunter is better than him is absolutely ridiculous.

Woj was on the kay show earlier hyping up rj and said this is a top 3 heavy draft(zion,ja,rj) and how we lucked out.

Just saying, going down the road of putting together a team of shoot first players who arent good shooters is never going to work.

Neutral. Good value for a weak draft but I am not in love. Tbh I want to trade the #3, Knox, Frank, Smith Jr, Mavs picks, and lottery protected future Knicks 1st for Anthony Davis. That would secure KD and Kyrie

well he doesn’t need to workout for any teams past 6 so yeah I think he’d still work out for any of the teams picking in the top 5. assuming new orleans and memphis are set that still leaves the knicks, lakers, and possibly cavs. memphis could still do their due diligence but I doubt it.
