RJ also is a natural leader. I cant remember who but he told one of his role player teammates to be ready to hit a big shot and he passed to him in a big moment and he sank it.

IMO, the Pelicans should trade for the #3 pick, and then be looking to sign Vince Carter ASAP.

Re: Draft Thread: Knicks got #3 - Combine and Beyond
it is def sounding like the top 3 is separating themselves. Zion is a lock for 1...and reports look like Ja is a lock for #2. Barrett whether we make the pick or trade it seem like a lock for #3.
Mike V from the athletic already talking to people saying Barrett seems like a lock and that some execs even think he has a James Harden type ceiling. While I think that is crazy like I said before you only need a few teams to believe that about RJ whether you keep it or the trade value of that pick continues to grow.
Sounds like so far around the league most thinking there is a tier after 1 and tier after pick 2 and 3.

Steve Nash being his godfather is underrated. You know there’s certain big league principles instilled in RJ. Someone that won’t be caught by surprise with the NBA requirements to live up to.

Yep his father has prepared him as best as he could. He's played plenty of big time games with real consequences even before College and was the clear alpha for all of them for Team Canada. My issues with RJ aren't work ethic related and that's always very comforting when selecting a player as high as we are possibly going to select him...

I’m really on the fence about this.
lets be honest
Robinson is probably the best player on there and he's a role player
RJ could be a star, or not
DSJ could figure it out and be more than an athlete but he might not
Knox could be a real baller but I dont see the fire
and Frank, well thats a true role player right there
for a top 10 player who plays defense as well as anyone in the league?
i think you gotta do it
Mitchell Robinson isn't a role player. If he's a role player, I'd be thrilled with filling out this team with more guys like him.
Since he's a role player I'm assuming he's a dime a dozen type of talent than?
Why would you say something so silly and obviously foolish?
He’s a defensive monster. Shot blocking machine.
He’s a great dunker.
He fills a major need for inside defense, quick footed switch defense, and interior scoring.
Like other great, exceptional even, role players he’s a talent and a rare one.
The thing that makes AD a star is his ability to do those same things and score and rebound and get to the line and do it all every single night as the best player on the court.
Perhaps Robinson will be more than Clint Capella. Or perhaps he will be just who he is. Or perhaps he will add range to his game and become an all star. Or more. We shall see.
Today he’s a really excellent role player.
Do you feel like I’ve explained this to you well enough now?
Is this the kind of poster you are?
I hope not. I expect more intelligence on this board than you are showing
Robinson is a role player
I also said he’s our best player

Lmfao, so no #3 pick or Mitch? Cool story

If we sign 2 max guys , we won’t have money to offer him in 13 months. Trade is only way to get him. Get too cute and we miss out. All because we didn’t want to offer our 3 pick and/or Mitch? That’s going to stand in our way of a big 3? Rough

You sign just one max, you max out AD next summer and during the summer you do a trade or two to add another star or two with much more outgoing salaries now!
The only downside is: KD wont accept an off year like Lebron in LA, and the only one who might be OK to so that (Kawhi) doesnt look like he wants to come in NYC

How can players separate themselves before any workouts?
These execs held these same opinions 3 weeks ago.

He could be a younger Timmy...the problem with that is he could be an Older Timmy as well
There’s a lot of ways it can go with RJ.
The right development will be key for him.
Still wanna trade for AD in a heartbeat but there’s a curiosity about him that has me questioning if we could keep him. Just the potential he has.
Yeah he’s finally starting to grow on me as well. I was not really a fan of his in college. Been watching his FIBA and high school tape and I feel a little more comfortable taking him. I am not gonna get attached to him tho cause if we are getting AD, he is most likely gone in the trade

It’s like when lil bitches make subliminal records, if it ain’t directed directly at me, I don’t respect it

it most certainly would not. just for salary matching that #3 pick salary would have to go in.
