Agreed

Remember that RJ got 4.3 assists per game at duke

That’s an underrated part of his game

And defensively RJ is already superior to thjr. And RJ has a long way to go on that end

I haven't been a fan of his game all season but it's time to accept that he's our guy and we have to hope he can develop and overcome his current weaknesses.

If I were the Knicks FO, I'd do some serious due diligence on Garland. If someone in this draft has that Lilliard feel, it's Garland.

Barrett...eh, he's probably more D-Lo Russell? Russell and Lilliard are both good players, but I'm sure I know which one I'd prefer...

tbh if they did that I might applaud it because that would take serious balls due diligence

I was kidding. I hope they trade down if that's the true intention.

I can only take so many Daniel Jones type picks.

Too early to tell with Daniel jones

I want to keep the pick as well and as I posted in another thread... you could realistically have this:
Ki/DSJ
RJ/Zo/DOTS
DJ/MR
KD/Frank
Taj?/Knox

Point being that's a deep team that's balanced with veteran leadership along with youth... Between the trio of Mitch/Knox/Barrett - I just think they're going to be really good for years.

would settle for culver or barrett, barrett has more boom potential and with him still being 18 can certainly add another inch in height.

i don't want giving new orleans a robinson/zion/barrett front court.

when the knicks 3-4 year window is over, those 3 won't even be 25 yet.

can't believe I'm seeing Nassir Little falling into the mid to late teens, early 20's in mock drafts. too bad they don't have another 1st to get him; he'll be a much better pro than college player IMO (kinda reminds me of Kawhi)

yeah I dont want to either. Knicks shouldn't get greedy and gut their team just to have 3 superstars. I'd rather have 2 plus a deep bench. KD and Kyrie make the Knicks instant contenders already

I wouldn’t avoid drafting a player because of shooting unless I thought he had a real mechanical issue with his shot that would take a lot of effort to fix. Historically shooting is one thing a lot of players can improve upon reaching pro level.

I think a lot were anti barret at one point I never took him out my top 3 but he was pretty frustrating to watch at times. I always felt cam will be a better player in the NBA I still feel like he is better translatable to the NBA even though he was even more frustrating to watch. but RJ had a great season and checks a lot of boxes that cam doesn’t so it is probably wise to just take RJ and not think hard about it, he fits what the Knicks need and has star potential

i don't think there will be a better duo than kd & kyrie in the league. name it ? what's even the next closest ? curry/klay ? lillard/ mccollum ? embiid/simmons ? i can't think of one. maybe you'll need to trade some of the youngsters/picks for the right role players but i'm not sure you have to trade all of them for ad to be a top contender.

I don’t see the Timmy comparisons at all. To me RJ feels closer to Derozan. Attack, get to the FT line, some unorthodox movements, willing and solid passer, more focused on the mid range game as well.

Yeah, his potential to be a facilator or secondary playmaker is one of the traits I like best and sets him apart from some of the other comparisons. I have heard Wiggins thrown around too, but he wasn't much of a facilitator in college (1.5 assists). It can increase his potential a lot.

For the guys who watch a lot of college basketball in this thread, do you think the increased NBA spacing will improve on some of his weaknesses? Ex: His wild attempts in the paint

I'm surprised at how many people are saying Barrett is a good fit with KD & Kyrie. He's a terrible fit. He's a guy who needs the ball in his hands to be most effective and he can't space the floor since he's not a shooter.

RJ in that case. He's the type of player that can wake up and score 20 any given night
