Its the first piece of good news that Pelican fans have had in some time so I'm happy for the fans and the organization. Its doesn't get any better than having this pick this year, and i'm quite curious what they decide to do. I visited their board, not a whole hell of a lot of action, pretty sleepy group, I think we'll discuss AD trades here 10X more than they will.

I kind of think we can best an LA or Knicks offer. I would like if we at least tried for AD.

7 pick, 2020 1st rnder, (their choice of WCJ or Lauri) and two of (Dunn, Val, Hutch), Felicio to balance salary.

I would much rather have WCJ or Lauri over Kuzma or Knox or Robinson.

I really view the 3 thru 8 pick as the same tier, so if their guy falls to 7, I think Pels would consider our offer one of the stronger rebuilding ones.

Here is the question...
Does New Orleans even want Kuzma with Randle locked up? I know why the Lakers are willing to dangle him (Bron at PF), but what does NO want? Is Randle going to move to center again?

Good point on Randle. It seems like there are a glut of good PF's. How can we benefit from that?

I saw there was some speculation that LA takes Garland. If so, how would folks feel about trading #7 (and either #38 or Hutch or Valentine or Dunn) for #5 and Love? Would CLE value getting rid of Love's contract enough? Could we make #'s work?

If LA take Garland....that "could" be good news....maybe.

Cleveland takes Hunter
Suns take...White at #6?
We take Culver at #7?

I'm "meh" on both White and Culver. Seems like a 5 person draft.

Randle took a paycut to play w AD and has a PO of only like 8m this year, I bet he declines and hits the open market.

If Bulls traded Otto Porter for cap space, I believe we would have $50 million in space.

Call Durant and say here’s $50 mil in space, use it however you want to sign guys you want.

If he agrees, give 2 - #1 picks to take Otto Porter. (PHX)

Durant $20mil, Kyrie $20 mil, Boogie $10 mil.

Much improved offer and more competitive against BOS, LAL.
#7, WCJ, Lavine, Dunn, Hutch, Valentine, Felicio, 2020,2022 unprotected for Davis, Holiday.
Lamelo will be a future superstar Bull. Book it. Lavar for president!

You realize that that is WAY below the max those guys could get, right? KD's max is like $37 million. Why would he take almost a 50% discount to play for the Bulls? And how would he convince Kyrie to do the same?

Thanks. I think I could squint and like Rozier, but I think he wants too much money for his production. Also, his game is too much like Dunn's. That said, I think his game is neither strong as an assist man or as a shooter.

We could probably get Rubio for similar $ and he, at least is an assist man.

I still prefer Satoransky, Brogdon and Beverly to either guy.

Rozier is towards the bottom of my list.
Jru/Kemba/Brodgon are at the top.
D-Lo
Beverly
Collison
Satoransky
Teague

As a wise man (Stephen A) once said: Stay off the weeeeeeeeeed

Spit out my coffee laughing at the thought of Durant and Kyrie taking $20 mil to play for Jim Boylen and the Bulls

Yeah, Rozier is low on my wish list too..
D-Russell, Brogdon, Beverley, Rubio, Kemba, Jrue all ahead..

AND YES, we SHOULD make a run atleast for AD -- #7, Lauri OR WCJ as main pieces plus extra..

What about something like 7, Dunn and Felicio for Conley?

Conley
Lavine
Porter
Lauri
Wendell

Then sign a couple vets

NONONONONO.

No trade of 7 for Conley, for Ball, for any aging vet or failed prospect. Conley is owed $32.5 and $34.5 over next 2 years. Getting off of that is HUGE for Memphis, and teams that can take that one are not substantial.
Here's a cap space list: https://www.spotrac.com/nba/cap/2019/
- Knicks make sense if they whiff on Kyrie
- Clips have SGA/Shamet/Lou, can't imagine they're focusing their space on a G
- Nets have DLo who's younger and resignable a lot cheaper.
- Mavs have Luka, are they interested in a PG?
- Hawks have Trae, see Mavs above
- Pacers are a possibility
- Lakers if they whiff are a possibilty (but they have Ball)
- Sixers have to resign guys.

Basically, Bulls should be able to beat any team's offer without including 7. Dunn and a future pick (top 10 protected) with Felicio for salary matching. Frees up ~$20-25M for Memphis, they get a flier on Dunn who at worst is a solid backup guard to defend and maybe lead your second unit as the lead G. And they stockpile some more assets for their rebuild, which replace what they will lose to Boston in the next 2 years.

For Bulls, makes complete sense to get Conley for 2 years, groom a longer-term solution, and regain credibility. But makes no sense to get Conley for years when you aren't contending at the expense of a guy who would be here when you hopefully are. Far far better to just go get Beverley even on an overpay. Hell, if you take Bev at 2/$30, that's an overpay and you're still better off with him and Garland/White/Reddish for 2 years than just Conley.

If you gonna trade for a vet guard let it be Jrue Holiday not Mike Conley

I agree..no trades of the #7 for aging, overpaid vets or busts.

But keep in mind that the Jazz are interested in him. That is fine by me. I hope they make the trade as that is one less team to compete with for a FA PG.

We need to outbid the Magic....
