Clarke is currently #1 in 4 of the 5 tests he has done so far.

Re: 2019 Draft Discussion - Suns with 6th pick!
They asked him how he is able to defend so well and get so many blocks when his standing reach is the same as some of the taller guards.
His response: "Basketball IQ, a lot of it is all about timing. Also helps that i have a very quick second jump as well. I dont let my physical limitations determine what i can and cant do".

Should any of these prospects reach their potential ceilings for us, Then I could reasonably see these comparisons:
Darius Garland-
A Kyrie Irving/ Stephen Curry hybrid( Hopefully not just a taller Tyler Ulis)![]()
Jarrett Culver-
A less athletic Joe Johnson/ Paul Pierce hybrid. ( hopefully not another Evan Turner)![]()
Coby White-
A Jamal Murray/ Sam Cassel hybrid. ( Hopefully not just a better shooting cuttino Mobley)![]()
Brandon Clarke-
A Sean Marion/ Kenneth Faried hybrid. ( Hopefully not just another shane Battier/ david lee mix)![]()
And outside of the lottery:
Nickiel Alexander Walker-
A Shai Gilgeous Alexander/ George Hill hybrid. ( Hopefully not a lesser version of current aged George hill)![]()
Mfiondu Kabengele- A Serge Ibaka/ better defense Tim Thomas. ( Hopefully doesn't become another biyombo only with better shooting)![]()
Cam Johnson- A Justin Jackson/ Mirotic hybrid.( Hopefully he gets stronger, and doesn't become like the current version of Trevor Ariza)
Hell if you would guarantee me that White is a better shooting Cutino Mobley I might take him 2 in this draft

Watching Garland's clips the way he moves, handles, and has a little passing flair he really reminds me of Brandon Jennings. Now he should be a much better shooter than Jennings but just the eye test thats the guy he most reminds me of.

I wish I knew how they would plan on trying to develop Culver. If the thought was to try to develop him as a quasi lead guard next to Booker that would be intriguing. Him and Bridges on either side of Booker would be the formation of a great defense and Culver is a smart player who I think could be a decent facilitator.
I should note while I like Culver the thought that he's Evan Turner 2.0 does scare me.

Who do we rank as some of better defensive pf/c in history of the league with length limitations?

I watched them and not sure how you could come to that conclusion. Besides the eye test, defense and bbiq, the #s per game..
Clarke - 20.25 ppg, 10 rpg, 3 bpg, 2.5 apg, 1.25 spg, 64.7% fg%
Hachimura - 16.5 ppg, 5.75 rpg, .75 apg, .5 bpg, .25 spg on 45% FG%, 0-4 from 3
So Clarke plays much better defense, scores much more efficiently, doubles himhim rebounds, 6x as many blocks, over 3x assists, 5x as many steals.
What am I missing? Is it just the wingspan? I want guys who know how to play and provide all those intangibles across the board...make an impact...tired of projection.
It is all about their skillset.
Rui knows how to create for himself and even for others. He can make plays. Good ball handler for his size, plays on the perimeter and in the paint.
Clarke scores the majority of his points like a prototypical C...put backs, alley oops, finishing around the rim...all those shots are not gonna be easy at his size in the next level and he can not create his own shots and that is a big problem if you want him as a future starter in the NBA.
Rui is a couple years younger and defensivey he is good enough. He plays smart...he reminds me of Tatum defensively.

Bo became a very solid NBA player who knew his role. I think he shot free throws like Chris Dudley. But knew how to make a career out of his skillset.

Exactly, I'm watching it right now. Before I forget, two things to mention...........
First Keep an eye on Neemias Quetas( Utah) . He's the next Mitchell Robinson. He's 6'11 with a 7'5 wingspan. Is a great shotblocker, can hit the three, has a developing offensive game, and is a good character kid.
https://basketballsocietyonline.com/neemias-queta-scouting-report.
2nd, Keep an eye on Luka Samanic for sure. 6'11 long mobile, advanced ball handler and shooter, a good shotblocker, Definitely could be a steal near the end of the first round.

Also he compares somewhat to faried as well as maybe Kenyon Martin perhaps.

I dont know, you do the research on that.
What i do know is that Paul Milsap was 6'7 (Almost 6'8) and had similar measurements. Milsap was known as a solid defender (Not as good as Clarke), but had little offense, as thats something he worked on when he got to the NBA.
Here is a chart that shows some of the similarities to NBA guys when they were in college to Clarke. If you want, you can try to find combine measurements for each of those guys and see if any are close to Clarke's numbers.

Similar measurements for milsap? He had a 7'2 wingspan.Kerrsed wrote:Crives wrote:Kerrsed wrote:They asked him how he is able to defend so well and get so many blocks when his standing reach is the same as some of the taller guards.

There really aren't any good big men length comps. Doesn't mean that he can't be good but he would be an outlier at his size. Dudes a great athlete so that helps.

Millsap had 40 pounds on Clarke coming out of college and a 7’2 wingspan.

Saw someone on Twitter suggest we draft Bol at #6 and Tacko at #32, so this could be the Official Tacko Bol draft.

I think Rui and Garland have way more upside and can be better than him as soon as next season in the NBA, so for now I would prefer these two prospects over Clarke.
Clarke is the better passer and far better finisher, but the elite defense is the main thing I care about. Now the shot would be the concern, but he's a guy I feel good about improving his range. It's nice if guys can create their own shots, but I'd rather not see too much iso, and this is far more important for primary or secondary ball handlers than role players like either of these guys could be.
I don't think we will draft either, but I'd be pretty shocked if we took Rui.
