I feel like parallels can be drawn between Zion and RJ this draft and Lebron and Wade in 2003.

Bro, if we had those Atlanta picks and someone suggested moving up to 3 with them we’d get laughed at. Why would you want to move down? We’re in a good spot, and have a **** ton of youth to develop as it is.
That won't be the case if we get AD
If we got AD we're likely giving up the pick anyway so it wouldn't matter, besides, which is more attractive? 3 in a 2.5 player draft or 8 10 and a second?

He left the combine early to start training in LA.
RJ tanked that memphis meeting

Re: Draft Thread: Knicks got #3 - Combine and Beyond
eh
"The Knicks have the No. 3 pick. If they keep the pick, no one expects them to pass on R.J. Barrett or Ja Morant, who reportedly will be selected by Memphis at No. 2.
But there is intrigue with Culver.
Per SNY sources, some members of the Knicks front office think highly of the 20-year-old. Now, that doesn't necessarily mean that New York would select Culver with the third pick. And it's unknown if the high opinion of Culver is shared by a majority or minority of Knicks decision makers.
But the Knicks will certainly take and make calls about possibly trading up and down the draft in the coming days and weeks. And Culver, currently projected as the sixth pick in ESPN's mock draft, would certainly be a candidate for New York if the club traded back in the draft."

I don't mind Culver if we trade down, but it better be of great value.

Culver over RJ will be the day I stop being a Knicks fan. The last straw. Will allow me more time in the desert & resorts.

Re: 3rd pick hype thread I guess
I didn’t realize he had reclassified. So he technically should’ve just been entering college THIS fall.
And as for the barreling into people thing. Not true.
He’s herky jerky and kinda awkward, rigid but his footwork and patience in the paint is special.
And in transition he’s as electrifying as Zion (well you know). It feels wack knowing that it’s very likely this kid never wears a Knick jerz. I know KD-AD-Ky is an instant contender. But man, I think we are really underrating how good this kid can be as a Knick.

The case for taking Culver
First off if they take RJ I won’t stop watching. But I prefer they draft Jarret Culver and here’s why. If NY gets both Kyrie & Durant they are both ball dominate and attract attention. RJ also is more effective with the ball in his hands, how would those 3 co-exist? Culver on the other hand, does not have the best outside shot but is better suited to play off the ball as a spot up shooter alongside Kyrie & Durant. Dotson will be invaluable alongside Kyrie & Durant in my view.
Defensively I think Culver is superior in every way to RJ. Offensively in time and if you want, I can see Culver able to run your offense as RJ would be able to, though I think Culver’s skill set over time will evolve to be on par with RJ who right now is superior to Culver but not by much.
And lastly I compare Culver to a more aggressive Ntilikina who I’d be far more comfortable moving if I’ve drafted Culver, especially if NY indeed lands Kyrie & Durant. Note, 2 places I’d look to move Frank to is either Atlanta or Phoenix. To Phoenix for Josh Jackson or to Atlanta for the 10th pick where I’d draft Rui Hachimura.
In my view this is a 10-12 player deep draft. Not many stars outside of Zion & Ja, but plenty of really good to great starters and rotation guys. I think Culver can be a star (Paul George) and at the very least a very solid starter.
I trust THIS front office to pick the right player and I love how they’ve moved in silence for the most part. I also hope they pick Jarret Culver.

Quote from Knicks beat writer Marc Berman on the Locked on Knicks podcast
We were waiting for Scott Perry and Steve Mills to come out of their interview with Ja Morant and they stopped and chatted with David Griffin for a good 10 minutes...Mills and Perry are being very careful in the media and they have not spoken to the media since the lottery... Right now they are lazer focused. [The feeling] is that the Knicks don’t want to build up RJ Barrett in the media because he will be part of their Anthony Davis package.
