How much do you think Vucevic is worth per year?

***This is not a "predict Vucevic's next contract" thread. It's simply to gauge how much YOU think he's worth if you were a GM***

His playoff performance hurt his value. Im going to say 4 years, $70 million ($17.5 million per) on open market.

I doubt it. Other teams understand that the Magic had such limited offensive options. When your 2nd and 3rd options are Augustin and Ross good teams in the playoffs with time to prepare are going to figure out how to shut down the only threat.

Teams with other offensive options will still see some value in Vuc knowing defenses won't be able to key on him the same way.

I think the biggest challenge he has to overcome to get a giant contract is will he give the same defensive effort once he gets paid. I'd be much more concerned with that rather than a tiny sample-size where he had little chance of success.

Caution! Small sample size.

His offensive on/off numbers in the playoffs were +5.9. Not bad considering he had a 44% TS%.
His defensive on/off numbers in the playoffs were +24.7! Yikes!

I'm less worried about his offense and more worried about him being taken advantage of defensively against good teams/playoff teams. Usually players play harder defensively in the playoffs too, and he was still getting defensive on/off numbers like that.

The concern of effort is a valid one, but the other concern I have is if he'll always be a defensive weak link in a playoff setting (even when he's putting in the effort).

I think 15-18 mil per is what he is worth as a C in todays market environment

sort of like Nurk last yr, market for C's is just not that good IMO, I gave Vuc a 3-6 mil higher window than Nurk got since he had a great yr and there is a LOT of money out there

Darkhorse of Atlanta with all that Cap Space and I don’t see them being huge FA getters? Yeah they have Plumlee and Len but Vuc would easily start over those 2. . Maybe they go after Middleton first and if that doesn’t hit try to snag Vuc?

Trae + Vuc pick n Roll with Collins and whoever they take at 8 +10 wouldn’t be a bad look youngish core.

I can't see the Mavs making sense. KP is too much of a center to spend big on a center-only player.

The Sacramento, Atlanta and Orlando look to be the market. The Clippers and Lakers could both be backup options if things fall though.

I would say 20 to 25 mil and i would be A OK with the Hawks giving it to him for a few years.

Less than that and I'd be thrilled - even if it doesn't work out getting an all-star who was probably top-25 player in the league last year would always be a good gamble.

More than that and I'd have PTSD thinking he might revert back to his pre-18/19 self.

Especially looking at what a cluster fack the Orlando roster is. We might have the worst bench in the NBA, bottom 3 guard rotation and lack of shooting/offense creation all over the place.

I think it’s be easier to pay Vuc 18-20+M a year if he was 3rd 4th option and you were set at G/Wing spots.

oh, i dont disagree that. and to me, except for a select few, you dont need to spend a lot of money at the center position. Im hoping they can get Vuc to re-sign under $20mil and that they dont break the bank on him

Amick is probably the most reliable national source on the Kings if you ask me.

The Sacramento Kings have Orlando Magic center Nikola Vucevic on their radar, according to Sam Amick of The Athletic.

“I know he’s a target, and I know that it will likely require the max,” Amick wrote in a reader mailbag.

If you want to outbid the Kings, probably gonna cost a whole lot.

I really hope it’s not the max. I want it to be $75/4-year, but I know it will be more. I can stomach $85/4, but it’s gonna hurt if it’s more.
