Yes. It's the only pro team anyone cares about.

Hopefully we can keep a bit of sustained positive momentum. Definitely encouraged by what I've seen lately. If we're in position to contend again we will probably have to buy another arm for the bullpen similar to the Soria trade last year but seems like things are trending in the right direction at the moment.

Along those lines, if one uses most rating systems (I'll use Fangraphs' projected standings, TeamRankings has more of a power index which also is good) which still likes teams like the Nats and Mets, it's kinda crazy to think:

I'll make the cutoff at the 15th best team (the Diamondbacks):

So far we've played 10 total games against teams not in that top list...and the Rockies are 16th and account for 4. The Reds and Angels have a pulse making up the other 6.

Regardless, roughly 75% of our games have been against good teams and I'd say 0 have been against garbage teams. This will continue until May 28th when the @Twins series concludes. 12 of the 56 games until then will be against top half competition, most of it being top 5 or 10 caliber.

After that, 2 of the next 35 games will be played against teams in the top half until the All Star break. The back half of the season is so-so in terms of schedule but I'd hope we make a massive run from June to mid-July.

The projected standings tool isn't perfect from Fangraphs because the upper AL teams are probably overrated, but you get the idea. If you use any other power rating type of system like TeamRankings, the results are basically the same.

Gio being brought in and not sucking has really helped to stabilize the staff. If and when Nelson comes back, itll hopefully be another little boost. If they could just get anything offensively from second and first base I'd be feeling really really good.

As it stands, they are doing pretty damn well.

I think it's fair to say now that we have the makings of an Opening Day starter curse.

So we score 7 in the last 2 innings and lose by 4. I love that Burnes/Barnes duo. Epic.

What about Alex Claudio's 4.48 ERA last year was appealing to the Brewers??

Cross-posting just to help it be seen:

Heads-up potential MLB.TVers: It's on sale this weekend 50% off, for $45 for one team the rest of the year.

A few folks were talking about this about a month ago, so wanted to mention it. I almost missed it myself.

Some of it has been bad luck but the overall execution with guys on 3rd and less than two outs has been comical lately.
